• Principal Advisor to the Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG), primarily in the areas of political dialogue and national reconciliation, one of the three main priorities of the SRSG and Mission.

Post-Electoral Phase (October 2000) – Established newly elected Municipal Assembly, new administrative departments, and Administrative Board in collaboration with elected officials.

• Negotiated with Albanian and Serbian political leaders on formation of Municipal structures.

• Oversaw transition to self-governance.

• Managed international and local staff in day-to-day operations of the Municipality.

• Acted as liaison with military, police and international organizations on security and humanitarian issues.

• Issued local ordinances to curtail activities such as illegal quarrying and construction.
