CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALSCivil Society Program – Learning with Partners51st ADB Annual MeetingManila, PhilippinesThe ADB’s NGO and Civil Society Center (NGOC) organizes a yearly Civil Society Program (CSP) which has become an integral part of ADB’s Annual Meetings. The CSP is organized and delivered in cooperation with key civil society organizations (CSOs) and NGOs in Asia and the Pacific. The CSP includes events called; Learning with Partners (LwP), which aim to provide opportunities for CSOs to share innovative solutions, insights, and experiences on key development themes, showcasing the key role of civil society in development. The 51st ADB Annual Meeting will be held at the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, on 3-6 May 2018. The theme of the upcoming Annual Meeting is, “Linking People and Economies for Inclusive Development”. The ADB is launching a call for session proposals for the LwP at the Annual Meeting. This call for proposals will run from 18 December 2017 to 31 January 2018. This call for proposal is part of ADB’s commitment to follow an inclusive and participatory process in organizing the CSP and ensure that the program covers relevant topics which reflect the diversity of civil society in Asia and the Pacific. Guidelines for submitting a LwP proposal:1. The LwP session should reflect topics which are relevant to ADB’s mission of reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific. 2. A CSO based in an ADB member should lead the session which runs for 1 hour 30 minutes. It can be organized solely by a CSO or with together other organizations. 3. CSOs are encouraged to work jointly with other CSOs and regional partners, to co-organize a session that showcases a variety of perspectives on the specified topic. If we receive multiple proposals on similar themes we may ask submitting organizations to consider working together on their session. To promote inclusiveness, a CSO may submit only one proposal. 4. The ADB will cover the travel (on economy) and accommodation expenses of up to four speakers for the event. The speakers should come from any of ADB members, preferably from developing member countries. 5. nterested CSOs should submit the proposal using the template provided, and no longer than three pages, attachments not included. It should include a list of tentative speakers for the session. Send the proposal to civilsociety@ using the title, “51st ADB Annual Meeting LwP Proposal”.
