Eating out is far more costly than cooking a meal at home. Restaurants often overcharge their food compared to buying the ingredients at a grocery store. However, if saving time is more valuable, eating out can be quick and easy, but not always healthy. Time can be saved by not having to go to the grocery store or the garden, and the preparation of a dish often takes more time than ordering at a restaurant, though the options are not always as healthy. When comparing portion sizes between restaurants and home-cooked meals, eating at home is the healthier option. The portion sizes at restaurants are much larger than what is required. Since the size of plates at a restaurant are usually larger than the sizes of plates used in a home, one usually consumes more food when eating out. Some people realize that the portion sizes are larger, and as a result, they will save part of the meal to eat at a later time. Though one meal can possibly be saved to make two meals, those two meals may not be the healthiest options. Knowing where one’s food comes from and who cooks it is important. When making meals at home, one is able to monitor the ingredients being put into the dish rather than trusting the cook at a restaurant where food is made behind closed doors. This is truly important if one is watching his or her dietary restrictions or food allergies. Eating at home may not always be convenient, but overall, it is beneficial to one’s health.Block Method Definition: a presentation of all facts and supporting details about one topic followed by the facts and supporting details about the second topic Advantages: Presents the whole picture of the two sidesDoes not appear as monotonous Disadvantages: Tends to become a summary if the writer is not carefulThe reader must remember a lot The paper is not always as clearly organized People should make meals at home rather than going out to eat. Since portion sizes are often larger at restaurants than the meals made at home, one can save part of the meal to eat at a later time. This option again saves more time in the future. Though restaurant meals are often made out of sight, many restaurants provide a list of ingredients per dish, or the servers are generally comfortable with describing the components of a dish.
