Compare and contrast DNA and RNA. DNA and RNA are both nucleotides made up of a 5 carbon sugar, a phosphate group, and a Nitrogen containing base. The polymers of both are built by the bonding of the sugar of one nucleotide to the phosphate group of the next, and both play a role in the building of proteins.
