Job DescriptionJob Title:Careers CoordinatorResponsible to: Assistant Principal Apprenticeships, Partnerships and Student ExperienceSalary:?13,175.70 actual salary per annum (based on BRK28 - ?26,351.41 per annum full time equivalent) Department:Apprenticeships and PartnershipsHours:18.5 hours per weekLocation:The post holder will be required to work flexibly across all campuses, according to department needsJob Purpose:The postholder is required to provide operational careers leadership and to manage the contributions both of staff from within the College and of external partners, including providers of careers guidance services and employers, into a coherent careers programme for students.To ensure that all students receive impartial and effective information, advice and guidance and are well equipped to progress within the College and thereafter into work or further or higher education. This role will ensure that the service provided to students is effective and afforded to them regardless of age, situation or type of attendance and help to ensure a consistent approach to the services that is provided to all students at Weybridge and Ashford.The Careers Coordinator is a key post within the Apprenticeship and Partnership Team. The post holder will report to the Assistant Principal and be directly responsible for operational careers leadership.You will play a proactive role in the delivery of Brooklands College’s strategic aims and Core Organisational Values of Compassion/Respect, Integrity and Innovation.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Promoting the College’s ethos and values. Ensure all students have access to impartial advice and guidance on entry and during their time at the College.Leading on the delivery of career guidance across all eight Gatsby Benchmarks.Working in partnership with the Assistant Principals, Directors of Curriculum and Progression Mentor Coordinator by leading and delivering on a career guidance plan for the whole College. Performance manage the College Careers Advisors.Preparing for Ofsted inspections and awards such as Matrix accreditation and Quality in Careers Standard assessments. Providing insights about changes to education and training and to the labour market, to the careers standing committee to inform the development of the colleges careers provision.Leading on the promotion of higher education opportunities and the completion of the UCAS process meeting all external deadlines.Ensuring that all students including those with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans are fully included in the careers programme and that services and support for all learners are effectively managed and coordinated.Liaising with schools to facilitate outreach and provide pre-entry guidance sessions.Working in partnership with the Employer Engagement Coordinator by developing strong links with employers to contribute to the careers programme and provide opportunities for working with the wider guidance community and professional bodies, at local, regional and national levels.Liaising with the local support service for young people who are vulnerable, NEET (not in education, employment or training) or have an EHC Plan; and adults who are unemployed.Managing links with the LEP (local enterprise partnership), NCOP (National Collaborative Outreach Programme), National Careers Service and other external organisations.General Responsibilities Undertake specific roles as prescribed by College policies and procedures.Act as a role model for all staff, students and external contacts by demonstrating the College’s values and behaviours.Participate in appraisal and continuing professional mit to the College safeguarding policy and promote a safe environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults learning within the College.
