Microgrid Training SessionsSimulation and Hands-on TutorialsMicrogrids Part 1: Simulation-based Design and EvaluationMonday, Nov 6, 1330-1500Location: TBD inside Olde Main or University ClubThis session demonstrates simulation tools for microgrid asset sizing, dispatch scheduling, distribution network design, standards compliance, cyber threat assessment and mitigation, resiliency to natural disasters, coupled power-water infrastructure simulation, and real-time operation and control. Bring your computers to participate in the interactive session. Examples will be drawn from on-grid and off-grid microgrids with work funded by the Office of Naval Research and others. Two software packages will be demonstrated includingXENDEE Microgrid Configurator for microgrid design, and ASU Resilient Infrastructure Simulation Environment (RISE) for threat assessment and mitigationXENDEE Microgrid ConfiguratorASU Resilient Infrastructure Simulation EnvironmentMicrogrids Part 2: Hands-on Integration and TestingMonday, Nov 6, 1530-1700Location: TBD outside Olde Main or University ClubHands-on tutorials complete the “all inclusive” approach to microgrid training with skills development to include basics in circuitry for solar-storage systems, hybrid microgrid setup and commissioning, operation and dispatch, asset-level performance (solar, storage, generator), system-level performance (e.g., fuel reduction), safety, and monitoring and control. Two training platforms will be setup with participants breaking into two groups to spend 45-minutes each on the below systemsMobile Training Toolkit for solar-storage circuitry basics and asset-level performance testing, and Mobile Microgrid Training Platform for integrating and operating a 7kW microgrid to power real loadsSolar-storage tutorials with the Mobile Training ToolkitDeployed Mobile Microgrid Training Platform Hands-on setup inside the Mobile Microgrid Training Platform ................
