SNAP is seeking a qualified individual for a Residential Servicing and Loan Specialist position, to work in SNAP’s Financial Stability Core. This position is full time, regular and open to all qualified individuals. Job Description is attached.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Residential Servicing and Loan Specialist

Core Area: Financial Stability

Department: Microenterprise

Reports to: Lending Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 7

EEO Class: 5 (Office)

Time Classification: Full Time

Position Summary: Applicant will be expected to reflect SNAP mission statement and have the ability to work in a public interfacing environment. Applicant will be responsible for gathering, processing, closing, collecting and following up on a diverse portfolio of residential real estate loans.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ability to work with SNAP colleagues and clients in a close knit team environment.

2. Work with coworkers and volunteers to promote a positive, respectful, and productive working environment, while protecting client and coworker confidentiality and dignity.

3. Within the context of the stated principle job duties, serve as an ambassador of SNAP’s mission and values.

4. Provide excellent customer service at all times as well as help to grow the customer service culture within the agency.

5. Research and stay current with related regulations and compliance.

6. Conduct accurate and timely document processing of new loan files.

7. Update loan information in SNAP operating systems for accurate and timely reporting.

8. Ability to keep files current, accurate and organized.

9. Provide timely follow up for any documentation issues.

10. Track and contact clients who have past due and/or delinquent payments.

11. Complete assigned projects and performs related duties as needed or situation dictates.

12. Ability to work in a confidential environment.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Required: AA degree and at least two years of comprehensive experience in mortgage/residential loan servicing/processing.

• Preferred: AA degree and at least 5 years of comprehensive experience in mortgage/residential loan servicing/processing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to empathize with and advocate for a diverse low-income and vulnerable population, and to maintain confidentiality with personal information

• Ability to accurately and thoroughly follow complex credit and lending laws, and detailed procedural and documentation requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in and solid knowledge of office operations including document preparation, workflow coordination, filing and other systems, equipment, and conventions

• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and personal interaction skills, with emphasis on working with a diverse population and in a team environment

• Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, data entry and query and internet applications.

• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with ability to work well independently, with or without supervision, and ensure workflow is appropriately addressed in a timely manner

• Ability to gather and research information and prepare documents clearly and concisely

• Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work with limited supervision and take initiative for work projects

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

Work is performed in an office environment and is generally sedentary. Some local travel to other offices and facilities will be required.
