MCFS will provide one exam voucher to students that meet the following requirements:Satisfy the course expectations.Receive a score of 75% or higher on the scholarship exam.An exam voucher covers the cost of one certification attempt. Testing is conducted at Pearson VUE test centers or by certified proctors.Course ExpectationsAssignmentsCompletion of assignments issued by the course instructor is the sole responsibility of each student. While there are no grades or completion requirements for this course, these assignments are designed to reinforce concepts introduced in class and will improve students’ understanding of the material.Teamwork is encouraged for both in-class and homework assignments. Students will be given access to an online discussion board that they can use to collaborate with their classmates.Attendance PolicyTo be successful in this course – and successful in the job market – it is important to arrive on time and to be present. While participating in this course, students agree to follow these attendance policies:Any absence from class must be accompanied by a call or e-mail to the instructor. Failing to communicate to a staff member will result in an unexcused absence.In the case of an emergency – such as an unexpected medical or legal matter – the student involved should contact the instructor or case manager after the emergency has been resolved.Code of ConductRespect Your ClassmatesStudents are expected to treat one another with respect. This policy includes, but is not limited to, using workplace-appropriate language, practicing good netiquette, and avoiding behavior that negatively impacts others. Violating this policy may result in removal from the course.Respect Our TechnologyAny equipment that belongs to Minneapolis Urban League or MCFS should be used in accordance with any established rules. Each student will have access to a computer to complete in-class assignments.Personal electronic devices should be silenced and use of these devices during class is restricted to activities that pertain to the class or a pressing personal matter. If it becomes necessary to make a phone call during class, students should to step out of the classroom so as not to distract their classmates.A Little Gift from MCFSStudents who both pass their scholarship exams and maintain an in-class attendance rate of at least 75% will be eligible to receive a refurbished desktop computer at the end of the course. ................
