Senior engineer/scientist expert in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, energy conversion, and scientific research and analysis. Skilled in high performance computing, UNIX, C, FORTRAN and scientific programming. Transitioning into development, analysis and management of engineering systems and scientific computer software. With primary interest in thermodynamic systems, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.

SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

• Created motion detection in LIDAR data containing vegetation using simple image-processing methods. Vegetation motion was averaged to reduce it presence in resulting image. Code was developed using JAVA and images false colored based on reflectance and range. Motion would be tracked or used for intelligence.

• Focused on solutions for mitigation of WMD effects in an urban environment, development of atmospheric transport and dispersion models, and integration of sensors with the models.

• Supported the development of Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability, HPAC, and the Consequences Assessment Tool Set, CATS, and JEM/JWARN.

• Modeled urban blast using the SAGE program on HPC.

• Investigated explosive fragmentation of bombs with various fills using CTH.

• Developed thermal models of trees predicting surface temperature under diurnal cycle, which included solar and weather conditions. Tree models provided as BRLCAD objects and surface temperature predictions of bark and leaves for Infar-red modeling. Results matched experimental data.

• Updated Fire Control Simulation Program and Baseline Test Code for the SARTIS, Ships Advanced Radar Target Identification System.

• Wrote control and interface, Skybolt II multi-processor card and Motorola 167 and SBS Power 4C.

• Investigated numerical simulation studying the flow field and near-field noise of supersonic rectangular jets with two paddles inserted in the flow. These simulations used to determine the flapping motion’s frequency, the mixing enhancement, the near-field noise, and the thrust loss associated with the paddles and to study the acoustic feedback mechanism.

• Generated Strategic Defense or Ballistic Missile Defense tracking and correlation, battle management using special vectorized data storage on massively parallel processor using C programming and native message passing instructions.
