Thank you, for your interest in the
2020 Awards Program of the
Concrete Industry Board
Submissions consist of two parts:
1. A 24” x 30” presentation board laid out as described in the attached diagram. The boards for winning projects will be displayed at the awards dinner. Please prepare text as follows: a description of the project in general, positioned in the top text block; a description of the concrete work (prepared by concrete contractor and/or structural engineer), positioned in the lower text block.
Concrete description: Please include a full description of how you feel that concrete was effectively utilized in the project, for example, to meet the end user requirements of the owner, to shorten the schedule, or for sustainability. (Maximum of 500 words)
2. A three-ring binder with project name on the cover that contains the following:
• Eighteen (18) copies of the written material that is contained on the presentation board and supplemental concrete information noted below. Please collate if written material is more than one page, and insert in the binder. (3 hole punched and stapled)
• Six copies of Data Sheets 1 through 6 (enclosed). Insert “NONE” for any categories for which there was no supplier. (3 hole punched and stapled). A complete project directory list of companies involved with the project must be submitted
• Please coordinate with other team members to ensure only one submission is made per project.
• One set of 4 to 8 photographic prints or jpg files (laser prints are acceptable they can be the same photos that appear on the presentation board). Attach a caption to the back of each photo or text for each jpg file that includes the name of the submitting company or agency and a description of the photo.
• Provide the following information on the concrete: (see Mandatory Items form)
A. Total volume placed
B. Compressive strength(s) specified
C. Concrete mix design(s) including admixtures, supplemental cementitious material, W/CM, etc.
D. Average field tested concrete strength of each mix
E. Reinforcing steel tensile strength(s) and special features: couplers, coatings, etc.
F. Special concrete mixes used such as mass concrete, self-consolidating concrete, etc.
G. Special concrete features such as special finishes, post-tensioning, void formers, maturity testing, etc.
• Additional materials that will contribute to an understanding of the project (optional).
• One Jump Drive with all written material, data sheets, project list ( AS WORD DOC.) and all photos for review by Awards Jury
