Go to the Google Play Store. Type ‘Dolphin EasyReader’ in the search box. Download and install the application.

Open EasyReader application.

Register/sign up for a free Dolphin account. Do this by either signing in with an existing Gmail account or follow the instructions on screen to set up a new Dolphin account.

Select the Bookshelf icon on the left hand side of the screen (side menu if using text-to-speech).

Tap on Newspapers.

From the ‘My Newspaper’ screen, press Add (the + key) on the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Select RNIB NTNM, the third choice from the ‘Choose Library’ list.

Type in your Username/Email Address and Password.

You now have four options to choose from:

• Magazines by category

• Magazine - alphabetical

• Newspaper national

• Newspaper regional

If you tap on one of the categories for magazines, e.g. Art, you will then have to choose a sub-category, e.g. Home & Antiques.

Make your magazine or newspaper selection by tapping on the one you want. Press ‘Add ‘to subscribe.

Note: if you have selected the wrong publication, you can go to the ellipsis (three dots) in the top right-hand corner and press on the option to unsubscribe. Alternatively, when on the ‘My Newspapers’ page do a one finger swipe to the left on the publication and that will also unsubscribe.

Once you have subscribed to a publication it will appear in your list on the ‘My Newspapers’ page.

When you tap on the publication you want, this will open a page with content displayed on the screen.

When the magazine or newspaper appears on the screen you can pinch the screen with two fingers to change the text size or you press the ‘A’ button at the top right hand corner of the screen.

When you press the ‘A’ button a Text Settings menu will open and it will allow you adjust several options such as text size, font, margins, line spacing and letter spacing. These can all adjusted by dragging the circle on the line beside from left to right.

Further options include ‘Colour Adjustment’ which allows you to change the colour displayed in the newspaper/magazine content by pressing on the arrow then tapping on the colour option of your choice. Colours can be adjusted for text, background, sentence and word highlighting.

Other options within the content include:

‘Search’ and ‘Speakerphone’ options. Both of these are displayed above the text. Tap on either to activate them.

There are also text to speech options at the bottom of the screen including:

• ‘Play’ - in the bottom middle of the screen

• ‘Contents’ - on the bottom left hand corner

• Rewind and fast forward by 15 secs - either side of the ‘Play’ button

• ‘Set timer’ - on the bottom right hand corner

Any of these options can be activated by pressing on them.
