Lab On Constant Speed Graphical Analysis --- Name

Constant Speed Graphical Analysis Lab Name___________________________

8th Grade PSI Score _________/ 34 points

Purpose- To graphically study the motion of a constant velocity vehicle.

Materials- Stopwatches, Constant Velocity Vehicle, Lab Sheet

Procedure-

1. Obtain materials.

2. Choose a starting point for the constant velocity vehicle. This should be at the start of a floor tile.

3. Measure the time it takes the constant velocity vehicle to cover 1 floor tile from the starting point.

4. Repeat step 3 two more times so you have a total of three trials for this particular distance.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for 2 floor tiles, 3 floor tiles, 4 floor tiles, etc.

6. Compute an average time using the 3 time trials for each distance.

7. Use your data to produce a graph of distance (floor tiles) vs. Average Time (secs)

8. Answer the analysis questions.
