LAKESIDE INDUSTRIES is a 50-year-old established, family-owned company that specializes in the manufacturing and construction of asphalt pavements for state, city and private customers. We are the largest asphalt paving company in the Pacific Northwest.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Safety Specialist based in W Washington/NW Oregon

JOB DESCRIPTION: Successful candidate will work with the division offices championing safety and health and partnering with them to ensure a safe environment for our workers and the general public. They will be responsible for insuring compliance with all company rules, policies and regulations regarding safety and health at Lakeside Industries. This position is based out of the Issaquah, WA office and covers primarily the W Washington and NW Oregon areas. This includes frequent driving, including jobsite, production facility and Industrial Hygiene audits, facilitating safety meetings and training sessions, and conducting administrative audits. Additionally, accident and claims investigations will be conducted and written reports generated for the Worker’s Compensation Manager and Safety Director/Risk Manager.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

□ Must pass pre-employment drug screen

□ Must have knowledge of the applicable OSHA, OR-OSHA, WISHA, MSHA and US-DOT regulations

□ Excellent written and oral communications skills

□ Basic computer skills

□ College degree or acceptable training and experience in safety and health, loss prevention or risk management fields

□ Valid drivers license with acceptable driving history

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:

□ Good people skills

□ Willing to work long hours during peak season with flexible schedule

□ Willing to drive to jobsites frequently in the W WA and NW OR areas. Some overnight travel (monthly)

□ Aggressive self-starter and able to work independently

□ Can work effectively with sub-contractors and suppliers

□ Ability to communicate and negotiate with appropriate agencies

□ Productive and able to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

□ Degree or Certifications in Safety and Health related field or 5 years related experience in safety.

□ Experience in construction related field (road and street construction preferred)
