Alton Nolen, the Oklahoma Beheader, took the name Jah’Keem Yisrael after he became a Muslim. He allegedly beheaded a former co-worker on September 25, 2014. He has been charged with her murder.

On December 6, 2014, John Maguire, an Ottawa-area man who joined ISIS in Syria, called for Muslims to carry out lone-wolf attacks in Canada in a video released by the Islamic State. The 23-year-old was identified in the video as Abu Anwar al-Canadi and spoke in English.
