COURSE DESCRIPTION

• This course is designed to give the student an insight into the functions of mathematics used in the business and every day environment. Business Math I integrates everyday business math with the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. This course covers fractions, percents, bank services, payroll, taxes, insurance, purchasing merchandise, markup, markdown and interest. Through internet activities, reinforcement activities, quizzes and spreadsheets, students apply concepts in a meaningful way. This course provides students with the knowledge to perform math calculations with a technological manner. This course uses the traditional method of calculating integrated with Excel. This course is recommended for all college-bound students and to career-minded students for entry level positions upon graduating high school.
