WWDC 2023

Apple Vision Pro redefines collaboration through an immersive experience, enabling productivity in all-new ways. Mac is even better for everyday work with the new 15-inch MacBook Air and the powerful Mac Studio and Mac Pro. New features help IT teams manage Apple devices, and new developer tools empower developers to build incredible business apps.

Introducing Apple Vision Pro

Apple's first spatial computer, Vision Pro (available early next year in the U.S.), seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world. With visionOS, users can interact with digital experiences and control apps using their eyes, hands, and voice. This revolutionary device will unlock new workflows and tools for collaboration in the workplace.

With Vision Pro, users have an infinite canvas that transforms how they perform business tasks. iPhone and iPad apps will run natively on Vision Pro. In addition, the new visionOS SDK (coming soon) extends familiar Apple frameworks for spatial computing, enabling developers to design entirely new apps for business.

New MacBook Air for everyday work

The new 15-inch MacBook Air, powered by the Apple M2 chip, combines powerful performance and portability with a more spacious Liquid Retina display so employees can get more done. With up to 18 hours of battery life,1 business users can manage projects, build spreadsheets, and join video conference calls all day.

The new MacBook Air measures only 11.5 mm thin, making it the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop. It weighs just 3.3 pounds, so it's incredibly portable for business users on the go.

Compared to a PC laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, MacBook Air with M2 chip delivers up to 2x faster performance,2 1.5x faster web browsing,3 and 2.3x longer battery life.1

With the introduction of the 15-inch model, Apple's MacBook Air lineup is a smart investment and ready for everyday business.

More power with Mac Studio and Mac Pro

The new Mac Studio, now available with M2 Max and M2 Ultra, transforms any workstation into a creative studio. Pro users love that it's a compact powerhouse with extensive connectivity.

Supercharged by M2 Ultra, the new Mac Pro combines peak performance, connectivity, and versatility of PCIe expansion, powering even the most demanding tasks. The new Mac Pro runs up to 1.8x faster4 than a 28-core Intel Mac Pro so that users can efficiently tackle computational analysis, 3D rendering, and more, with thousands of pro apps optimized for Apple silicon.

Productivity driven by macOS Sonoma

macOS Sonoma brings intuitive and powerful features that enhance the Mac experience at work. New video conferencing features make business meetings more engaging with Presenter Overlay and Reactions. Widgets on the Mac desktop give users the latest news and information at a glance. New Profiles in Safari allow users to separate browsing by Personal, Work, and more. And users can add any website to the Dock as a web app.

iOS and iPadOS enhancements

iOS 17 unlocks productivity enhancements for employees in everyday business. AirDrop will continue to send over the internet even if you step away.5 With NameDrop, users can hold their iPhone near someone else's iPhone or Apple Watch to quickly share contact information.6 Live Voicemail allows users to see a live transcription, giving immediate context for the call. And updates in Messages improve search and replies for effective communication.

iPadOS 17 takes iPad even further. Lock Screen widgets and Live Activities help users stay on top of things happening in real time, right from their Lock Screen. New systemwide PDF features now allow users to view, interact, and collaborate with PDFs in Notes for uninterrupted productivity. Stage Manager is enhanced with flexible window placement and support for external cameras.

Expanded management for IT

Managed Apple IDs support Continuity and more iCloud services, like Wallet and passkeys. And custom identity provider support allows for easy creation and federation. Managed software updates have been enhanced with declarative management, providing new options for when and how updates should be enforced.

New security features for Mac allow IT to manage built-in system services. And Managed Device Attestation provides strong assurances about the security posture of Mac. Apple Watch can now be enrolled and managed by MDM when paired with a supervised iPhone.

Powerful APIs for enterprise developers

Developers can now surface apps in new ways across the system and leverage familiar frameworks and tools to build for visionOS.

With new Swift macros, SwiftData, and a significant upgrade to Xcode Previews, it's easier than ever to build great business apps.
