JoB DescriptionJob Title: Ethics OfficerDepartment:Human Resources/Executive OfficeReports to: Place TextEffective Date:Place TextJob Summary:The Ethics Officer serves as the organization's internal control point for ethics and improprieties, allegations, complaints, and conflicts of interest and provides corporate leadership and advice on corporate governance issues.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Duties/Responsibilities:Develops and disseminates corporate ethics statements, policies and supporting forms/acknowledgements.Provides an internal review of other corporate policies to ensure corporate consistency and integration with the company's ethics philosophies. Integrates the corporate ethics message throughout the corporate culture.Oversees the development and implementation of corporate ethics and conflict-of-interest training and conducts ethical decision-making training for senior management on ethics issues and avoiding conflicts of interest.Promptly conducts investigations pursuant to complaints and allegations of ethical wrongdoing or conflicts of interest. Prepares written investigative reports as necessary.In conjunction with legal counsel, conducts annual corporate governance audits to determine the state of the corporation and presents findings to superiors. Corporate audits will include risk minimization with respect to issues that lend themselves to identity theft and the corporate mission of minimization of employee data required to be maintained by the organization.Develops and maintains confidential procedures for the handling and processing of complaints and allegations. Provides processes for the confidential hearing of employee issues related to the ethics or conflicts.Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of corporate governance requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities, and related legal benchmarks from federal and state law.Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in related field required.At least two years related experience required. Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification preferred.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. ................
