WORK HISTORY

1986-Present Detective, Plano Police Department.

Since 1988, exclusive investigation of crimes against children including injury,

sexual assault, and exploitation.

Have investigated and resolved both sexual and physical abuse cases involving

Vietnamese, Laotian, Albanian/Yugoslavian and Korean families where religious practices were a major factor in the abuse allegations. Have also investigated multi-victim case investigations involving the Catholic, Mormon and Jewish communities.

Provide training and consulting to FBI Indian Country Unit, Bureau of Indian

Affairs, Tribal Police Academy, Tribal Law and Policy Institute, Unified Solutions

and U.S. Department of Justice Office of Victims of Crime.

International presentations in South Africa, Oslo, Norway, and Santiago, Chile have focused on instruction on MDT/CAC intervention in child abuse and family violence cases. Collaborated with Chile’s Fundacion Amparo y Justica to create a new criminal and civil justice system for abused children. Worked with the Zulu Nation and Xhousa tribes in South Africa, addressing predominant tribal culture as it relates to the post-apartheid “New System” of criminal and civil justice, and helping establish a Children’s Advocacy Center and laying the framework for multidisciplinary teams.
