• Daytona Cubs Baseball Club; Purchased the Minor League Baseball franchise known as     “Baseball City Royals” (Haines City, FL) in the Class A Florida State League of Professional

    Baseball Clubs from Anheuser-Busch, Inc. in 1993; moved the franchise to Daytona Beach,     FL and renamed it the “Daytona Cubs;” Majority Owner and President, 1993-2000.

As a start-up organization, I was responsible for hiring and supervising a staff of over one                 hundred (100) people involved in sponsorship, ticket sales, marketing, promotions, media,

 merchandising, facility operations (box office, ushers, security, clean up, maintenance, etc.),

                concessions, accounting and team operations; was the primary liaison with members of our                 Major League affiliate, the Chicago Cubs (their president, general manager, field manager,      

         trainer, coaches, and players); consulted in the renovation of Jackie Robinson Ballpark, the                 team’s home stadium, in 1999.

Scheduled, promoted and operated various events in addition to Minor League Baseball                 games, including college and high school baseball games, concerts, softball tournaments, road                 races, car shows, symphony orchestra, and various events for non-profit organizations.

• Maine Guides Baseball Club; Purchased the Minor League Baseball franchise known as the            “Charlestown (W.Va.) Charlies” in the Class AAA International League of Professional            Baseball Clubs in 1982; designed, financed and constructed a 7,500 seat AAA standard

     baseball stadium known as “The Ballpark” in Old Orchard Beach, ME in 1983; moved the      team to Maine and renamed it the “Maine Guides” in 1984; Majority Owner and General      Manager, 1984-1987; (See: “It’s the Maine Attraction,” Sports Illustrated, July 9, 1984,      page 46. ().

In addition to arranging the financing for, designing, and constructing “The Ballpark,” I hired                  and supervised a staff of over two hundred (200) people involved in sponsorship, ticket sales,                  marketing, media, promotions, merchandising, facility operations (box office, ushers,                  security, clean up, maintenance, and concessions, etc.), accounting and team operations; was                  the primary liaison with our Major League affiliates, the Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia                  Phillies (their president, general manager, field manager, trainer, coaches, and players).

• Baseball Fantasy Camps, created and operated “Baseball Dreams,” baseball fantasy camps, in      Florida, 1993-2000; marketed the camps to businesses, conventions and non-profit groups.

• Minor League Hockey, developed a minor hockey league, “Hockey South” in Florida, 1991-92;      prepared a business plan, solicited investors, negotiated leases, developed logos, and hired      staff.
