Council on Aging
Mission
The Council has the responsibility for fund-raising to augment and, when appropriate, to implement programs, services and activities to benefit the senior citizens of Polk County, particularly those programs, services and activities of the senior center known as the Meeting Place. The Council is also advises the Commissioners regarding facilities for senior centers, the well-being of area senior citizens, and the provision of meals, activities, education and fellowship for area senior citizens.
Membership Requirements
Persons with motivation, knowledge, or experience, and the desire to serve in the area of problems of aging shall be eligible for membership on the Council.
Meeting Schedule
Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm at the Senior Center.
Length of Term
Members serve a three year term.
