THE POWER OF THE BLOOD…Part 7

“Proclaiming/Pleading/Applying the Blood”

• LIFE is in the BLOOD….I have never realized that more than this past week, going through all we have gone through with Pastor Donny and this kidney stone episode…

• After his surgery, they were concerned that his blood pressure wasn’t going down…it was too high….so they immediately started doing everything they knew about to get it lowered and regulated…

• It started me thinking “spiritually”…since my mind has been on the BLOOD for the last several months….about how many of us are ever willing to go through a spiritual “blood pressure” check….do we really, really submit to the Holy Spirit when our lives are all out of whack…and let Him keep the DIVINE BLOOD flowing right in our lives…

• What I mean is….THE BLOOD has to continue to flow in our lives….as this DIVINE BLOOD flows, it CLEANSES us and PURIFIES us….it can’t flow right through a vessel (meaning a person) that is unclean…or that has blockage…..by blockage, I mean willing SIN

• Some people preach or teach that once you’re saved, all is well and good, you are secure and fine forever, no matter what you do…..that’s a BIG FAT LIE of the devil…it’s not true in the NATURAL that you can do whatever you want to do and everything is OK…so why would we think it’s OK to do what we want in the SPIRITUAL and everything is supposed to be OK?????

• EX: kinda like people who eat all the wrong things ALL of the time and then wonder why they have heart attacks or major blockage in their arteries with their blood flow…we can’t put in all kinds of YUCK sin stuff in our lives and expect because we “once ate good”, for about a week, that all is gonna stay well with our “blood flow” for the rest of our lives! …..do you get what I’m saying???

• The BLOOD will flow to cleanse a “body” but that “body” has to do what it takes to stay clean in order for it to continue to flow…..the BLOOD has POWER!!!!

• We have been promised freedom from the control of SIN…but we have to have the same attitude about sin that God has about sin…we have to HATE IT like He hates it…we will never get victory over it until we HATE IT…

• THINK ABOUT IT LIKE THIS: we can’t learn to live with an ENEMY in our bodies…we have to GET RID OF IT

• SIN cuts off the flow of BLOOD…and causes us to become spiritually DEAD…..just like a leg, an arm, or any other part of our body that does not have a BLOOD FLOW cannot live…we become spiritually DEAD when we cut off the flow of THE DIVIND BLOOD in our soul.

• F.Y.I……All of the diseases that cause us to die are found in the blood

• LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD!!!

• So…..we let the doctor check our physical blood pressure…but do we let the Spirit regulate our spiritual blood pressure?....don’t put yourself on Spiritual death row!!!

• This world we live in is FULL of sin….only the DIVINE BLOOD flowing through us can keep us cleansed….the most SUPER COOL thing about it, is that with that BLOOD flowing through you…you don’t even WANT to sin…your desires have changed!

• The BLOOD has PROTECTION in it…the devil can’t break through that hedge of blood to get to your soul…that hedge of BLOOD would have to be taken away before the devil could get into your heart…ONLY YOUR WILLFUL SIN can take it away….

• YOU can come out from behind the hedge, from behind the blood…but the devil can’t get through it! God doesn’t leave….(WE are the ones who walk away)

• Jesus is coming after a Church without spot or wrinkle. He is coming after a HOLY PEOPLE

• ONLY the BLOOD can make you acceptable to Him….

• THINK ABOUT IT: YOU HAVE TO HAVE A BLOOD FLOW TO BE ALIVE not only in the natural….BUT ALSO IN THE SPIRITUAL!!!!

• The Holy Spirit used the BLOOD to save you…He was the One Jesus said would teach us and train us and renew us….He APPLIED the blood to us….and it is the HOLY SPIRIT who keeps the blood flowing in you….but you have to be SUBMITTED to Him for Him to be able to do it…

• If you are not YIELDED or SURRENDERED…you are deceiving yourself

• The BLOOD takes care of our deepest needs…the needs of our SOUL…

• Jesus made EVERYTHING available to us through the BLOOD….we’ve already talked about all the incredible promises He has for us (last week)…

• Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the BLOOD of Christ.”

• God looks at His kids THROUGH the BLOOD of His Son….He looks through the BLOOD and sees no sin…nothing yucky…..BUT, if that BLOOD is not flowing through a person’s soul…He can’t look through it

• Just like the children of Israel when they were instructed to APPLY the blood of the Passover lamb to their doorposts…God wasn’t looking for the lamb that they had killed….He was looking for the BLOOD APPLIED…THAT BLOOD APPLIED had protection in it!!!

• W.B. Young in his tract “Honor and Blood” write: “There must be a personal application of the blood of Christ in order to stem the tide of spiritual destruction in the life of a child of God….it is a PERSONAL MATTER.”

• Exodus 12:13 “The BLOOD will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I SEE THE BLOOD, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.”

• It was the FAITH of the people in the Blood that was applied to their homes (their lives) that gave them SALVATION and that protected them from the wrath God was to pour out on Egypt (the world) for those who did not have the BLOOD APPLIED

• Do you realize that God can only accept us if we are covered in the BLOOD of Jesus…..That BLOOD has PROTECTION in it!

• That BLOOD APPLIED was all that was required for peace of mind and rest…it took away all fear of the destroying angel…

• It wasn’t if they had INTEREST in the blood, or BELIEF in its power, or even if they appreciated it….it was the APLIED BLOOD that mattered…the APPLIED blood that SAVED and DELIVERED

• The ONLY way to God is through the BLOOD…the BLOOD keeps you NEAR TO GOD!!!!

• Not only does the BLOOD make you near to God…it KEEPS you NEAR!!!!

• Everything is available to us through the BLOOD…joy, wisdom, knowledge of God…eternal life, eternal greatness, eternal everything PERFECT and GOOD!!!

• We can never be PERFECT in love without the BLOOD…in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said,…

• Matthew 5:48 “Be PERFECT, even as your Father which is in heaven is PERFECT.”

• PERFECTION can only happen through the BLOOD

• Look at the Original GREEK meaning of the word PERFECT: “telelos”…”what has reached its end, term, limit,…therefore it is COMPLETE, perfect, FULL, WANTING IN NOTHING”

• So….Matthew 5:48 is saying…”Be complete, full, wanting in nothing, even as your Father which is in heaven is complete, full, wanting in nothing.”

• How can we be that way????...through the BLOOD OF JESUS!

• Believe it or not…some people don’t want the BLOOD of Jesus flowing through them….they simply won’t hear and don’t want the truth because it interferes with their lifestyles…they would rather live in the bondage of sin and “satisfy every lust of the flesh”

• The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:2-17 “For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away. For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth…men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men…but you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience, persecutions, sufferings…and out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all that would live godly in CHrist Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and imposters shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you abide in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them. And that from a babe you have known the sacred writings which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Every Scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. That the man of God may be COMPLETE, furnished COMPLETELY unto every good work.”

• JUST A QUESTION: Can you gossip, hurt people with your words, cause all kinds of problems and discord with your words, lie, or commit other kids of sin and still have the blood of Jesus flowing in your life….or do those things cause “blockage” just like “fatty, bad food” causes blockage in the physical blood flow??????

APPLYING THE BLOOD OF JESUS

• Just like the priests in the old covenant applied the blood….we, as priests in the new covenant are to apply the blood of Jesus

• Hebrews 9:20 “This is the BLOOD of the testament which God has ENJOINED to you”

• ENJOINED means “to be given charge of”

• In the old covenant the priest applied the blood of animals with sprinkling….in the new covenant we receive the BLOOD by FAITH and sprinkle the blood with OUR WORDS…

• Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the MOUTH confessions is made unto salvation.”

• You are APPLYING or SPRINKLING the Blood of Jesus on you when you say “the blood of Jesus that He shed on the cross was for me, and it makes me free from sin and all unrighteousness.”

• It isn’t a PHYSICAL sprinkling….but a LEGAL TRANSACTION…When we truly believe in the power of the shed blood of Jesus…it has MAJOR EFFECTS on our lives!

• Some people say, “O, I know it’s wonderful to be justified through the blood of Jesus…but I still have trouble believing the Lord says I’m righteous…I still haven’t arrived…I still struggle”

• But, think about it….if you believe with all your heart….it will bring your conscience and soul into rest! You really trust in the blood and have faith in the blood…you are saved, forgiven, and healed by the Blood!!!”

• God never intended for His kids to live under fear, anxiety, or guilt….He gave us absolute security from judgment in the BLOOD of Jesus….it’s not by our works…but by the BLOOD….Its a grace gift that we have to ACCEPT (apply)

• The Blood is SPRINKLED on our soul through Holy Ghost preaching….when you hear messages and sermons or radio broadcasts or reading books about the blood….if after you hear these messages…you are now willing to walk in the truth and the light and allow the Holy Ghost to expose any sin or darkness in you…you can know that you have been SPRINKLED!

• 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the BLOOD of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

• John is talking about someone who is so in love with the Word…who says “Lord, shine your light on me, on every place in my heart, I want to walk in the light”…THAT is a sure sign that you’ve been sprinkled!!!

• If you call on the power and authority of Christ’s Blood when you are under enemy attack….you can know that you’ve been SPRINKLED!

• When those who HAVE NOT been sprinkled are under attack…they call their best friend, or counselor…or they wallow around in fear or condemnation….but those who are sprinkled in the Blood IMMEDIATELY stand on Jesus’ Blood!

• Your attitude has to be one of a BLOOD-bought, BLOOD-saved, more than conqueror through Jesus attitude! We are not in a courtyard PLEADING a case…WE ARE VICTORS!!!

• Our battle cry should be “I PROCLAIM the victory of the BLOOD of Jesus! I am blood-washed, blood-bought, blood-justified, blood-safe, blood-ransomed. And I PROCLAIM the victory of the BLOOD of Jesus!!! WOO! WOO!”

• Whatever we PROCLAIM and APPLY the Blood to…Satan cannot touch….whatever we apply the blood to is REDEEMED by Christ….it is HIS…it is HOLY

• Another way you can know that you’ve been SPRINKLED by the Blood is when your conscience no longer condemns you…

• Revelation 12:10-11 “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now SALVATION, and STRENGHT, and the KINGDOM OF OUR GOD, and the POWER of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they OVERCAME him by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB and by the WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

• THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN…is Satan…he is always accusing us, you need to know how to answer him…he is relentless, never giving up…unless you know that your defense against him is in the BLOOD…you are DEFENSELESS!

• Our defense…our PROCLAMATION…lies only in the BLOOD OF JESUS!...When we say that we “plea the blood of Jesus”…we are actually using a LEGAL TERM!!!

• The more the devil accuses you, the worse you feel…he reminds you of every lie you’ve ever told, every time you have cheated, stole, or said something ugly to your friend or spouse or children. He reminds you of every time you let God down…he calls you worthless, no-good, and unworthy….but all we have to do is PLEAD the BLOOD of JESUS…and as our ADVOCATE, standing at the right hand of God, He pronounces us NOT GUILTY!!!

• Some people say that if you use the term “plead the blood” that you are in effect “arguing your case”…..I personally don’t see it that way, in my mind….when I say “I plead the Blood” it’s like I’m saying “Devil, you got NOTHING on me…I am totally, 100% covered in the Blood and you can’t get to me through the BLOOD!...I am stating my RIGHTS as a CHILD OF GOD….I am CLAIMING the promises of God!

• Our conscience does an “evil work” when it does not cause us to want to be obedient to the Word of God….it does an “evil work” when it unnecessarily condemns us, accuses us, or constantly reminds us of how we failed God…it does an “evil work” when it causes us to be depressed or fearful….

• But when we really rest in the CLEANSING, JUSTIFYING power of the Blood…when we take command of our conscience in the Spirit…then our conscience does its work properly….

• Hebrews 10:22 “Let us DRAW NEAR with a true heart in FULL ASSURANCE of faith, having our hearts SPRINKLED from an evil conscience…”

• HIS BLOOD SPEAKS FOR US!!!

• Through the BLOOD of Jesus and our testimony of it…we OVERCOME and we have the POWER to live life FULLY for Christ….notice that FIRST the Blood has to be applied, we become a part of God’s family, known as sons of God, and THEN we have boldness not only to speak for Him, but to magnify God with our lives…either by life or death

• We APPLY or PROCLAIM the Blood WITH OUR WORDS!!!!.....

• The devil is totally defenseless against the BLOOD!....in fact, Satan had absolutely no idea that the death of Christ would bring about his defeat…even though it had been prophesied for centuries before it happened….Paul called this truth “a mystery” or “hidden wisdom”…

• 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which NONE OF THE RULERS OF THIS AGE KNEW; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

• Satan failed UTTERLY and COMPLETELY at Calvary!!!....The BLOOD of Jesus is an ETERNAL reminder to him of his defeat…

• When we apply it daily it produces the kind of testimony that we, as Christians today, NEED to get the victory over the enemy….

• Philippians 1:20-21 “According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

• The devil has NO HOLD on us!!!

• You can apply the Blood of Jesus to your body to receive HEALING

• You can apply the blood of Jesus to your MIND, to receive a SOUND MIND

• You can apply the blood of Jesus to your HOME

• You can apply the blood of Jesus to your CHILDREN

• You can apply the blood of Jesus to anyone and anything that you have authority over or influence upon…it is your RIGHT as God’s child

• Apply the blood of Jesus to your job, to your car, to anything…..Donny wakes up every morning and applies the blood of Jesus to himself, to me, our kids, grandkids, extended family and friends and the whole church family…EVERY SINGLE MORNING

• Before we go on trips, I plead the blood over our vehicle, over the tires and engine and steering wheel…

• I plead or apply the blood of Jesus over my mind when I go to sleep at night…cause the Bible tells us to KEEP A WATCH OVER OUR MINDS…and I did it over Donny’s mind while he was having to take all that crazy pain medicines…

BY THE BLOOD AND THE WORD OF YOUR TESTIMONY YOU OVERCOME THE DEVIL…make confessions like this…

• Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil…Psalm 107:2 “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

• Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven…Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through His blood, for the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

• Through the Blood of Jesus, I am continually cleansed from all sin…1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.”

• Through the Blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just as if I’d never sinned…Romans 5:9 “Much more than, now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

• Through the Blood of Jesus I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God…Hebrews 13:12 “wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate.”

• My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, by the Blood of Jesus…1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “… Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, you are God’s, you are not your own? For you are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”

• Satan has no place in me, no power over me, through the blood of Jesus! WOO! WOO!

• We are heading into the end times …..I believe that we HAVE TO KNOW how to apply…or PROCLAIM…the blood of Jesus over ourselves and our family for PROTECTION in this day and age

• It is a type of OFFENSIVE PRAYER…..it is available to us before any type of adversity ever strikes us…it can also be used for physical, emotional and mental healings, for battling demons, and for battling any kind of storm cloud that may have come your way

• PROCLAIMING the blood of Jesus is a SPIRITUAL WARFARE TECHNIQUE!

• Lots of verses in the Bible tell us that was are to be “good soldiers of Jesus Christ” and that we have to “fight the good fight of faith”…..like it or not, we are all living in a WAR ZONE as a result of the curse that came down from Adam and is in FULL OPERATION on this earth.

• We are living in a fallen, imperfect and cursed world that is subject to death, corruption, demonic spirits, and evil humans who have chosen with their OWN FREE WILLS to live this life on the dark side.

• Places where you thought were safe are no longer safer….criminals are getting more and more bold and more evil…..but the Bible warned us of this…so we gotta WAKE UP and understand what is going on!

• As Christians, we can either choose to continue to remain passive…totally oblivious to what is going on…hoping that we don’t come under any attack or anyone we love….OR we can choose to learn how to rise up in the power of the BLOOD of Jesus, and learn how to spiritually defend ourselves using spiritual warfare techniques that the Bible tells us about!!!

• When the enemy comes….and he will come at each of us from time to time…you can either choose to run and hide hoping that you will somehow survive the attack…OR you can choose to learn how to spiritually defend yourself …after all, this is a class called WARRIOR CHICKS!

• Too many Christians today are taking the “run and hide” mode….not a good thing….they are living lives of defeat…with no real joy, peace, or power in their lives….

• There is SALVATION, FORGIVENESS, DELIVERANCE, HEALING and PROTECTION in the BLOOD of Jesus!!!

• We talked a lot last week about the Scriptures for forgiveness through the Blood…

• The Bible tells us that Jesus not only died on the cross so we could be forgiven…but He also DEFEATED SATAN and all the powers of darkness that day…

• Hebrews 2:14 “…that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

• Colossians 1:13 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

• Colossians 2:15 “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

• 1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

• These Scriptures prove to us what the Blood of Jesus DID and DOES for us…..He has totally defeated Satan and all of the dark side…we just have to REALIZE this and USE THE BLOOD when the enemy tries to launch an attack against us….QUOTE those SCRIPTURES OUT LOUD!

• God has given us His SUPERNATURAL POWER and ANOINTING to use…

• Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the AUTHORITY to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

• Daniel 11:32 “…but the people who KNOW THEIR GOD shall be strong, and carry our great exploits.”

• 2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

• We were not made to be weak and wimpy….we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us with SUPERNATURAL POWER and AUTHORITY

• Its super simple to PROCLAIM the blood of Jesus….simple, but ever so POWERFUL….EX: Father, in the name of Jesus, I PROCLAIM the blood of Jesus over my mind while I sleep. I thank you that you have protected me against any demonic powers that would try to torment me at night. I have faith that the blood of Jesus will protect me and watch over me.” In Jesus name I pray, amen.

• You can even hold out your right hand toward whatever you are PROCLAIMING the Blood over….WHY, you ask, would I do that?..... The term "God's right hand" in prophecy refers to the Messiah to whom is given the power and authority to subdue His enemies …

• Psalm 110:1 “The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my RIGHT HAND until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” And in…

• Psalm 118:16 “The Lord’s RIGHT HAND is lifted high: the Lord’s RIGHT HAND has done mighty things.” ………………so holding out your right hand, basically just reminds YOU of God’s Word and what He has said about His right hand and the POWER it has over the enemy!

• How often do you need to PROCLAIM the Blood of Jesus…..I do it all the time!

• Every time my big grown up kid, Jordan, walks out the door to go to his summer job of cutting grass for the city, I PROCLAIM the Blood of Jesus over him that no animal or blade will harm him, that he is protected and healthy in all he does….cause he has ran across 3 alligators and 3 water moccasins in the last few days….and those things will NOT hurt my kid in the name of Jesus!

• One time at the Russian orphanage that I have been to twice, the leaders PROCLAIMED the blood of Jesus over their crop of potatoes (because that is how they were fed and the winter was super harsh that year)…and their crop is the ONLY one that had potatoes on it….even though their crop was surrounded on all sides by others!!!! They walked their crop and pled the blood over it….. Sometimes people call this DRAWING A BLOOD LINE

• One time we had a crack addict living at our house for 3 days to “get clean”…we applied the blood of Jesus to our house, our kids, even over our DOG!...we sent the kids and dog to the neighbors for the 3 days while we prayed and took this guy through deliverance…we “heard” from all kinds of spirits from his mouth…death, slumber, lust, and more….but we were completely and utterly protected from the evil that came out of him!

• You can do this with your house and property too! In fact, someone who goes to our church had us come out and walk his property and pray over it because “strange things” kept happening…..we PROCLAIMED the blood and the strange things stopped….of course, the OWNER had the power to do this too….but for he didn’t realize the authority he had in Christ!(

• At my school where I did TAKS tutoring, I PROCLAIMED the BLOOD over my students BY NAME every day!

• I PROCLAIM the BLOOD of Jesus over Jake as he goes to school each day….there are all kinds of things that go on at Jr. high…..but the BLOOD over Jake will keep him protected!

• BE AGGRESSIVE IN THIS!!!!

• 1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”

• The more we learn to stand fast in FAITH under the BLOOD…the more we will OVERCOME the attacks of the enemy

• With the power of the Holy Spirit in you…..you can get things accomplished!

• Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord”

• Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

• 1 Thessalonians 1:5 “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in POWER, and in the Holy Spirit…”

• 1 Corinthians 4:20 “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in POWER.”

• Romans 15:19 “…in mighty signs and wonders, by the POWER of the Spirit of God…”

• God is no respecter of persons….what He does for one, He will do for YOU…what He did back in the Old Testament and New Testament, He still does today….Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…”

• Philippians 4:13 “I CAN DO all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

• Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

• By pleading or proclaiming the BLOOD, we agree with what the blood says concerning our total and absolute redemption and freedom from the curse!

• 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”

WE HAVE TO KNOW OUR ENEMY…..As Soldiers of the Lord….We HAVE TO!

• 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

• God has given us the authority to overcome…

• Let’s look at some of the evil spirits that we can overcome with the Blood of Jesus …

• Luke 7:21 “…He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and EVIL SPIRITS; and to may blind He gave sight.”

• The Greek for EVIL SPIRITS is “poneros pneuma”…poneros means “anquish or pain, worthless, corrupt, or degenerate” it can also be translated as “bad, wicked, lewd, malicious, or wicked”……this poneros (evil) spirit causes people to feel worn down by life…when doctors can find no cause for it, it is probably a poneros spirit

• Matthew 12:43 “When an UNCLEAN SPIRIT goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.”

• The Greek for UNCLEAN is akatharots….which also means “impure, lewd, and foul.” Its literal meaning is “not cleansed”…..this is the spirit that drives people to do unspeakable things

• Luke 13:11-13 “And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her. He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your INFIRMITY.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”

• The Greek for INFIRMITY is astheneia….it means “feebleness, sickness, and weakness”…..this spirit causes people to lack physical strength, it can also cause disease symptoms

• Acts 16:16-18 “Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of DIVINATION met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days, But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.”

• The Greek for DIVINATION is “puthonos” or “Python”…..under the influence of this spirit, people may say some things that are true and they may demonstrate knowledge that they could not otherwise know…the Holy Spirit will give you discernment to tell the difference…if it comes form the Holy Spirit, it will always glorify Jesus…a spirit of divination will not

• Revelation 12:9 “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the devil and satan, who DECEIVES the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

• The Greek for DECEIVING spirit is “planao”…which menas “to lead astray or to cause to wander”…this spirit tries to seduce and entice people away from the Word of God….this spirit is behind people’s decision to join a CULT or to have an AFFAIR…it tells lies

• BE ON GUARD! PROCLAIM THE BLOOD!!!!

• Satan was totally defeated 2,000 years ago at the cross by the BLOOD of Jesus….

• His final destruction is when he will be thrown into the lake of fire, Revelation 20:10 says “tormented day and night forever and ever”…but until that time…he knows his time is getting shorter and shorter here on the earth…and he is getting more and more desperate

• We HAVE GOT TO learn how to PROCLAIM the BLOOD of Jesus….our children are being taken captive by godless humanistic teachings, evil music and video games and TV shows with violence and obscenity and anti-God or anti-Christian beliefs in them…sexual perversions are everywhere and considered NORMAL by our society…moral values in direct opposition to God’s Word is what is applauded by our society.

• WE HAVE GOT TO PROCLAIM THE BLOOD OF JESUS OVER OUR FAMILIES, over our neighborhoods, over our cities!!

• Spiritual warfare comes with being a Christian….we have to realize that Satan FEARS the BLOOD because it’s part of his defeat and DOOM!!!

• ONE DROP of His BLOOD is enough to destroy Satan’s kingdom…..THAT’S why he fears it!

• His BLOOD gives us the power to overcome every evil spirit and every weapon that is formed against us.

• It is only through the BLOOD that we can come into the presence of the Father….

• OUR LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD!!!!!!

• Just like that old hymn I used to sing in the Baptist church I grew up in….”There is Power in the Blood”….“Would you be free from the burden of sin? ..There’s power in the blood, power in the blood. Would you o’er evil a victory win? There’s wonderful power in the blood.”

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY THE STORY OF RAHAB WAS IN THE BIBLE???

• It is such a super cool example of how pleading the BLOOD works!!!

• Our God is sooooooooooooooo amazing….He doesn’t want to condemn or curse…He would so much rather save and bless….but even in the midst of JUDGMENT, God is so merciful that He extends the opportunity for deliverance for anyone who will repent and believe….

• Rahab is a really great example of this mercy!

• Her story is so important that it is even mentioned in Hebrews…

• Hebrews 11:30-31 “By FAITH the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.”

• Rahab was not and Israelite and she was not a part of Abraham’s bloodline. She was a harlot, a prostitute, from the city of Jericho. Jericho was a city that was so wicked, that God commanded that they be utterly destroyed…but even in the midst of impending destruction…God had still given a way of escape, and Rahab took it!

• Joshua had sent out 2 spies to scope out the land….the 2 spies took refuge in Rahab’s house…actually on her roof under some flax!

• Because she helped them, she asked for protection…Joshua 2:9,11-13…”I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you…the Lord your God. He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.”

• Rahab had come to the conclusion that the God of Israel was the one true God…Israel was under a BLOOD COVENANT….remember that these people back then KNEW and UNDERSTOOD the terms of a COVENANT!!!!...she was basically PLEADING THE BLOOD!...She was asking for acceptance into that same BLOOD COVENANT…

• Joshua 2:14, 17-19 “So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the Lord has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you…We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of SCARLET CORD in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home. SO it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him.”

• Rahab brought her family under her roof…and even though the rest of the city and all the people were destroyed….Rahab and her family was spared…

• Joshua 6:23,25 “And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel…And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father’s household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.”

• The really cool thing is…because of her faith in God, she was not only spared…but she eventually became a part of the ancestral line of Jesus Christ Himself!......Jesus was of the line of King David and Rahab was David’s great-great-grandmother

• HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!.....

• Because of the BLOOD COVENANT….one who was destined for destruction….believed and PLEADED the BLOOD and was SAVED!!!!

• Pleading the BLOOD is powerful! It can change our destiny and even alter history!!!

• Is there something that is expected of YOU if you have been SPRINKLED by the Blood…or if you Apply, Plead, or Proclaim the Blood?...ABSOLUTELY!

• Two things…

• 1. We are to GO IN PEACE…..no more doubting

• The Israelites didn’t doubt after Moses sprinkled the blood on the altar, the book of the law and then on them….they TRUSTED in that sprinkling!...and they were sprinkled with the blood of bulls and goats and sheep….WE are sprinkled with the BLOOD of JESUS….but yet we seem to doubt wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than the Israelites did!

• A quote by Martin Luther “It is blasphemy to take back to ourselves all the sins that were laid on Christ.”

• He is RIGHT!!! It is absolutely the most absurd thing to go around living in fear and condemnation to say “The Bible says that by faith I am cleansed, justified and protected from Satan’s power…but, I just can’t believe that such an incredible thing is possible.”

• How many of us are guilty of thinking or saying that?????....remember it’s not about how you FEEL…it’s an ABSOLUTE a CERTAIN

• 2. We are to praise God with a thankful heart!

• THANK GOD FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

• Romans 5:11 “…we also JOY IN GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”

• Psalm 32:11 “BE GLAD IN THE LORD, and REJOICE you righteous; and SHOUT FOR JOY, all you that are upright in heart.”

• Psalm 89:15 “Blessed is the people that know the JOYFUL SOUND…”

• Isaiah 61:10 “I will GREATLY REJOICE IN THE LORD, my soul shall BE JOYFUL in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness…”

• A quote from a devotional on the blood by Bob Gass “The preaching of the blood will offend those with sins to hide, a moralistic ego to protect, or a gospel that offers salvation through good works and social evolution. The blood of Jesus not only saves the repentant but also condemns the defiant, for ‘…without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.’ (Hebrews 9:22) Plagues and apocalyptic hail could not release God’s people from the iron grip of Pharaoh. What did? THE BLOOD. Nothing but the blood! And the blood has never lost its power. • SO……………………….no more doubting, go around THANKING GOD!!!!!

PSALM 91

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust in Him. For He will rescue me from every trap and protect me from deadly disease. He will cover me with His feathers. He will shelter me with His wings. His faithful promises are my armor and protection. I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. I will not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at my side, though then thousand are dying around me, these evils will not touch me. Just open my eyes, and I will see how the wicked are punished. If I make the Lord my refuge, if I make the Most High my shelter, no evil will conquer me; no plague will come near my home. For He will order his angels to protect me wherever I go.
