New Mexico Cow Elk Hunt Information Sheet

Hunt Info: $1050 to $1250 per hunter

This is a 2.5 day hunt. We are hunting a 500,000 acre ranch west of Raton, New Mexico. The hunt includes the landowner voucher, 2.5 days of guiding, and the field-dressing and transport of the elk when taken. We pick-up and return the hunter(s) to their accommodations on a daily basis.

Hunters are responsible for their meals (bring a bag lunch- daily), accommodations, and for purchasing the cow elk license before the hunt. The non-resident elk license is $61 for residents and $354 for NM non-resident hunters. You must also purchase a $65 NM General Hunting License.

Each hunter must acquire a Customer I.D. # from the NMGF online at:

Our success rate has been over 95% for the past 7 seasons, with 100% shot opportunities for our approximately 600 cow elk hunters.

Please be sure to inform us where you are staying, and the dates, so we can arrange to pick you up on a daily basis. Be sure to eat breakfast before your AM pick-up, have your lunch with you and be prepared to be gone hunting for the entire day.

Upon receiving your deposit/completed hunt contract we'll send your landowner voucher which guarantees you a NM Cow Elk license for our ranch only.

Lastly:

-Though a cow elk hunt, it often entails a bit of walking, and longer shots. -Please be ready to handle all weather conditions for NM in December and January. -Having proper clothing, binoculars, shooting stix and a rangefinder are helpful. -This cow hunt has been featured on the RMEF television show for the past several seasons and in Bugle and Huntin' Fool Magazine.
