1.0 Back-Up Basics

1. Does the computer have to be on in order to run a backup? Yes.

2. How can we find out the amount of MB information we have on our computers? The actual process may vary depending on your operating system. One method is to access Windows Explorer and right click on My Documents to see the properties of the drive (including space consumed). As an alternative, you can use an Internet search engine to find ways to identify the information.

3. Most people are unfamiliar with what to back up. By default, what does the service back up? There is a pre-defined backup setup by File Type which includes business-oriented file types including Microsoft Office, etc.

4. The computer on which I did my last back up just crashed. How do I restore the lost files back to my new PC from an existing PC? There are various methods to restore files and folders. Instructions can be found in the CBOB User Guide available on .

5. How long will it take to back up my server? The size is approximately 30GB. The initial backup may take some time depending on the size of your backup set and the speed of your Internet connection. Initial and subsequent backups can be scheduled to run overnight or during a time where worker productivity is limited or reduced.

2.0 Back-up Product Information

1. What is the website address for Cox Business? .

2. I'm trying to configure the online backup and it takes me to an overview page. There is no link to actually set it up. Please refer to the Quick Start Guide.

3. I have Cox Home Office now, but do not see any reference in any paperwork to free space. Where do I find that? Most CBI Package Customers receive either 10GB or 25GB for free and this varies according to the specific package. Customers who have purchased CBI Home Office Packages also receive either 10GB or 25GB for free. A detailed list is available on .

4. Would you suggest this solution for large file servers with more than 3TB in data? Yes, although keep in mind that the solution is designed for the Small ? Medium Business space and is not designed to replace an Enterprise Grade Backup, Recovery and Archiving solution.

5. Is there a quick step guide somewhere that walks through the product demonstration that was presented? Yes. Please click the link CBOB instructions for assistance on.

6. What type of system does Cox have for storing our back-ups? All CBOB backups are encrypted and mirrored across redundant data centers.

7. Does Cox analyze the data for their own interest whether it is marketing, statistics or other reasons? If so; what is the data being used for? The data is encrypted and adheres to Cox Business security and privacy regulations. Cox Business Online Backup (CBOB) is included as part of our Cox Business Internet Packages.

8. What if I am already using Mozy Pro to back up my servers and laptop? Since Cox is Mozy-based, how easy/difficult (technically) is it to switch from Mozy Pro to the Cox version. Is a "full" backup required? (It took days to complete on the initial backup.) We recommend a new account to streamline data management. The backup can be throttled to work in the background or to run on evenings or weekends (non-work time).

9. Is the restore process throttled? If so, how much bandwidth can I use with the full 25 or 50GB?

The restore process is not throttled.

3.0 Back-up Configuration & Options

1. How do you back up the server if it does not have an email address? Create an email address to create the user account for the Server (possibly using the Server Name in the email address). The Server itself then appears as a user in your Administrative Console.

2. We have several remote sites. Do we need a separate email for each of their servers in order to set separate backups? Yes, you can set up an email address to create the user account for the Server (possibly using the Server Name in the email address). The Server itself appears as a User in your Administrative Console.

3. Should I go to to download the backup application? I have never logged on to that site?

Please refer to the Quick Start Guide.

4. Does each backup override the previous so that we are not increasing our storage usage every time we backup? No, with CBOB your storage is consumed based on the amount of data in the initial backup and any incremental changes.

5. Can I access these files from a remote location? Yes, as long as you have an Internet connection.

6. Can backups be run from locations outside of the Cox network? Yes. CBOB is broadband agnostic.

7. Can you automate backups to a local drive that includes a set of files different than the set of files you upload to the cloud? The local backup feature is meant to mirror what you put in the cloud.

8. Can I backup QuickBooks as well as Microsoft office files? Yes.

9. Can I access files from my iPad even though they may be Windows Platform?

Mobile enablement is a roadmap item ? user experiences may vary today on some mobile devices.

10. If I access from a remote location, will this allow for changes to the file to be made and saved? You can restore from a remote location; but to save the file (put in the cloud), the new file needs to be added to the backup set and saved on the device connected to CBOB.

11. While traveling, is it possible to access and download an individual file onto my notebook? Yes.

12. Should we have one agent per computer or do we need an agent for each computer? The application should be installed on each machine.

13. Can you automate backups to a local drive that includes a set of files that is different than the set of files you upload to the cloud? The local backup feature is meant to mirror what you put in the cloud.

14. Do backups overwrite each other after multiple backups or is there a choice as to whether each backup overwrites the next? Every backup set stays in the cloud for 30 days. Sequential backups only back up what is new or what has changed in the back-up set.

15. Is this solution integrated with a premise-based solution like Netgear NAS? CBOB can integrate by mapping to an attached drive.

16. When you do a restore to a folder for instance, does the backup overwrite all files in your folder on your computer, or can it restore only newer files than the files in the folder on your computer? We recommend that all files be saved to a new folder on your computer to avoid accidental file override.

17. Do backups have de-duplication and/or encryption? If so, what is each level of deduplication and encryption? Blowfish 448-bit key encryption.

18. Can policies be created on the admin site to manage the agent (backup configuration, backup sets, etc.)? Yes.

19. Does the user get notified if a backup gets hung up or does not run? Yes, the user is notified if the backup does not complete either by an on-screen notification or report.

20. Can you configure default client backup settings? Yes, from the Admin Console.

21. Can you backup a shared network drive? Yes.

22. When you do a restore to a folder, does the backup overwrite all files in your folder on your computer, or can it restore only newer files than the existing files in the folder on your computer? Cox Business recommends restoring to a folder with a new name to avoid accidental file override.

23. What are limitations in backing up open files? There are no limitations on backing up open files.

24. Does the program work inside a Hyper-V virtual machine? We know of no interoperability issues with VM.

25. Are server operating systems supported? Yes. Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2, Windows Home Server, SQL and Exchange Servers are all currently supported.

26. Is the process more complicated to back up an Exchange or SQL server? No, the service is very user-friendly.

27. Are there any restrictions for backing up servers outside of the U.S.? The only restrictions are those inherent by local and national institutions in terms of privacy and data access

28. How does it address SQL servers or SharePoint farms? You can back up SQL Servers and you can back up databases regardless of whether they are SharePoint.

29. Is the agent required on every device or does it reach out to all devices connected on the network through the server? The CBOB Client (Agent) supports attached or mapped drives.

4.0 Back-up Pricing Information

1. What about pricing? CBOB is included for free in select CBI Packages. Other Cox Business customers can purchase CBOB for a minimal fee. CBOB can also be purchased a la carte in various increments.

2. What are the pricing options?

Pricing may vary depending on your existing services with Cox Business. Please contact your

local Cox Business Account Executive. 3. You mentioned all business clients get the 25GB for free. What about the Cox

home customers? Most Customer Business Internet (CBI) Package Customers receive either 10GB or 25GB for free and this varies according to the specific package. Customers who have purchased CBI Home Office Packages also receive either 10GB or 25GB for free. A detailed list is available on . 4. The CBOB Customer Eligibility screen mentions two quantums of free space-- 25GB and 1GB. How much back-up space is available at no extra charge? Cox Business Internet Package customers receive between 10 GB and 25 GB depending on the respective package. 5. On upgrade backup space, I see a $25 cost for 25GB. At 50GB, it was $40. As a business user, we get 25GB included, which has a value of $25. Does our business get credit for the $25 against $40, thereby being charged only $15 to upgrade to 50GB? No. Additional storage is sold in incremental amounts for a monthly charge. 6. What is the cost of 1TB of storage? The current price is $250 per month. 7. What is the pricing for non-COX customers? A customer must have an existing product relationship with Cox Business to purchase CBOB. The customer is not required to purchase Cox Internet access -- Voice or Video only customers are eligible.

5.0 Other Backup Applications

1. Is the back-up HIPAA compliant? CBOB can help our customers meet the HIPAA standards.

2. Can you back up Citrix? Citrix is not currently supported.
