**International PDFs will normally be eligible for Manitoba Health coverage if their work permit is at least 1-year long. For shorter work periods, international PDFs will not be eligible Manitoba Health coverage and will require Health insurance from elsewhere.

Guidelines for vacation entitlement and benefits:

Statutory Obligations (CPP, EI, Payroll Tax):

All PDF employees, total cost to employer – 10%

Vacation Pay

If the PDF does not receive paid vacation time, then they are entitled to 6% to be paid as vacation pay.

Non-Canadian PDFs*

When PDFs are Non-Canadian, HR will be required to complete and submit an IRCC Offer of Employment in order for the PDF to obtain a Work Permit. The cost for this offer of employment is a $230.00 Employer Compliance Fee and it will be charged to either the faculty sponsor or department.

Benefits – excluding pension:

• Full-time term/sessional salaried employees whose term is no less than 8 months in duration;

• Part-time term salaried employees who work a minimum 50% time and whose term is not less than 12 months in duration.

Health & Dental – $216.00 per month; AD & D – $1.92 per month; Life Insurance – 0.3% of base earnings

University of Winnipeg Trusteed Pension Plan - Defined Contribution (DC) component:

• PDF employees whose term of employment is for a minimum duration of two years join the plan on date of employment.

• PDF employees whose term of employment is for an duration of less than two years may join the Plan on the second anniversary of the most recent date of employment and must join the Plan on January 1 of the year following the second anniversary of the most recent date of employment.

Employer cost is 6.2% of base earnings
