Topics to be covered will include: airplane parts and controls, flight instruments, introduction to aerospace and aviation, UAVs (drones), aviation and aerospace careers, aviation history, and problem solving.Required Materials:Binder for future class materialsNotebook to be dedicated to this class100 sheets of loose-leaf paperPen/ Pencil for every class periodRed pen Recommended:Smartphone for flying unmanned aircraft and various classroom appsGrading Scale:A90-100%B80-89%C70-79%D & F60-69% & < or =59%Quizzes/ Unit Tests: 35%Final Exam: 5%Flight Simulator Grades: 10%Assignments/ Projects: 40%Class Participation: 10%Graded Work: Assignments/projects will be accepted late with a loss of points. Absentee Policy: It is your responsibility to get your missed class notes and make up work. I suggest you email me to receive your missed work. Classroom norms (posted in classroom) and AFAHS rules will be followed at all times. Disrupting the class is unacceptable. Socializing during a lecture, or while another student asks a question will not be tolerated.
