SOCCER CAMP

(Ages 4-7 and 8-13)

NEW THIS SUMMER! Ages 4-13 are welcome to join us for a week long soccer camp with coaches from the Play Soccer organization. Soccer Camp will build on simple skills and knowledge through drills, fun games, and scrimmages. Don’t miss this fun opportunity! Great for both beginners and experienced soccer players!

Camp runs the week of July 23-27.

Ages 8-13 meet Monday-Friday in the morning from 9 AM – 12 PM.

Ages 4-7 meet Monday-Friday in the early evening from 5 PM – 6 PM.

Costs include 1 week of camp with excellent coaches, t-shirt, water bottle, and a surprise gift from the coaches!

We need a minimum of 10 kids for the camp so sign up soon!

No Recreation discount applied to this fee. Soccer Camp is a separate fee.

PIANO LESSONS WITH CAROL STARBIRD

(ages 4 and up)

Piano and keyboard lessons are enriching, educational, and fun! With focus on the individual student and his/her needs, Carol will help nurture the growth of each child’s musical skills.

PRESCHOOL ARTS AND CRAFTS

(Ages 2-5)

Dress for mess! In this 6 week program, children ages 2-5 will get messy, explore, and create with a variety of art materials! Maximum of 12 kids.

Crafts will include:

July 12: Painting (Finger Painting; Birdhouses)

July 19: Collage Art

July 26: Print Making (Stamps; Bubble Wrap Prints)

August 2: Flower Pots

August 9: Tye Dye Shirts

August 16: Artsy Day (a variety of art projects to end the summer!)

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

(Ages 3-5)

Creative movement and dance is a great way for our preschoolers to develop their physical skills, channel their energy, stimulate their imagination, and promote their creativity.

Thursdays, 8:30-9:30

Cost: $10/class; $60/6 classes

DANCE CLASS

(Ages 6 and up)

This class will open up a new perspective on visual arts and creative movement. Students will learn to count music and follow rhythm. Students will also build on basic dance moves toward more advanced steps and will work towards a performance at Wharf Street Festival.

Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00-2:00

FIELD DAY

(All Ages)

It’s the coolest gym class you’ll ever attend! Join us at the Ball Field to play a variety of sports and games including soccer, football, kickball, and other fun games!

Field Day will meet at the Ball Field except on July 24th because of Soccer Camp. On July 24th, Field Day will meet at the School.

CLAY PLAY

(Ages 4-6)

Using their hands and a variety of tools, children will have a chance to explore and create with a variety of clays including homemade dough, Play-Doh, and air drying clay. There will be an opportunity to work on the potter’s wheel with one of the pottery instructors.

Wednesdays only, 9:30-10:15

Cost: $7.00/class; $42/6 weeks

Instructor: Pottery Studio Staff

** Please note for the following pottery classes: the week of July 23-27 will be for firing and glazing pottery projects. This will allow students to participate in the Soccer Camp that Recreation is hosting during that week. For those students not participating in Soccer Camp, the pottery studio will be open and pottery staff will be available to help with projects.

KIDS I

(Ages 7-8; Children age 6 may be eligible to attend with

Clay Play experience and recommendation from Pottery staff))

New projects each week! Students will learn the basics of coil, slab, and pinch pots. Students will also have a chance to work on the potter’s wheel. Projects will include Japanese teacups, sea glass boxes, Aztec sun faces, and snack plates.

KIDS II

(Ages 9-10)

Improvement of basic skills and work on the potter’s wheel is the main focus in this class. Projects will include personal mugs, seaglass boxes, ice cream bowls, animal masks, and teapots.
