Create a Column With a Constant in Every Cell
Excel: Create a Column With a Constant in Every Cell
I have two Excel files, one for each group in an experiment. I need to add to each file a column that indicates which group the cases are in. Later I shall merge the two files into one.
I select the first column and click Insert, Columns:

Now I select all the cells in the blank column into which I wish to enter the constant (a “0”), type the formula “=0”

and then hold down the Ctrl key while I hit the Enter key.

Lastly I enter a name (Group) for the new column in the first cell of that column.
