1. Design a “Sign Book”. Be sure to explain what the sign means and be as creative as possible. When choosing your signs, try to pick the most commonly used signs. While driving with someone and/or traveling on the bus, look for the signs that are used the most. Include the following categories in your Sign Book:

a. Shapes of Signs (7)

b. Colors of Signs (9)

c. Regulatory Signs (Choose 10)

d. Warning Signs (Choose 10)

e. Construction Signs (Choose 6)

f. Guide Signs (Choose 5)

2. Draw the entire instrument panel of a car. Label and describe the location, function, and operation of each device on the panel. Be creative and neat. Be prepared to discuss your drawing.

3. Draw the intersection of a major street. Some suggested intersections are: 111th and Pulaski, 111th and Western or 111th and Kedzie. You may also use a major intersection close to your house. Include all traffic markings, signs, signals, lane/pavement markings and pedestrian traffic. Be creative and neat. All markings, etc. must be clear.

4. Expressway Poster – Expressway Entrance: Draw and label the parts of an expressway entrance. Include pavement markings, any signs, at least one car entering the expressway and at least one car in the adjacent lane. Explain the steps for entering an expressway.

5. Expressway Poster – Expressway Exit: Draw and label the parts of an expressway exit. Include pavement markings, any signs, at least one car exiting the expressway and at least one car in the adjacent lane. Explain the steps for exiting an expressway.
