 Social Media Intern The Korean Community Development Services Center (KCDSC) is seeking a motivated, organized, and creative undergraduate/graduate student to join the North 5th Street Revitalization Project (N5SRP) team as a part-time intern. The intern will gain hands on experience in commercial corridor revitalization work in one of Philadelphia’s most ethnically diverse and exciting commercial districts. The intern will also receive training, networking opportunities, and professional development. Organization and Program DescriptionKCDSC is a social services and community development corporation that has served Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood since 1984. Its community economic development program, N5SRP, enhances the quality of life for the merchants and residents in and around Olney’s North 5th Street commercial district by 1) improving and maintaining the streetscape; 2) increasing public safety; 3) supporting existing small businesses and attracting new, viable economic uses; and 4) fostering community connectedness.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Program Director, the intern will work with the N5SRP team to implement N5SRP’s corridor revitalization plan. Specific responsibilities include:Create social media strategies and schedulesCreate and post content on social media channelsAssist with preparation and delivery of marketing support materialsAssist in creation of email campaigns, online promotions etc.Write copy for web siteAssist with managing blog Execute search engine optimization strategiesPrior experience with tracking tools to measure and analyze impact of social media campaigns (e.g. Hootsuite, Mention, BuzzSumo etc.) a plusPrepare presentations for both meeting and training needsPerforming other duties as assigned QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:A strong interest and some education in community development, economic development, urban planning, sociology, business or a related field Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail and strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and the public, including non-English speakers. Energy, flexibility, creativity, and initiativeGeneral proficiency with Microsoft OfficeKorean, Chinese, Vietnamese, French or Spanish language skills a plusInternship Timeframe and HoursThe internship entails working 10-12 hours per week from October 2, 2017 – December 30, 2017 during normal N5SRP business hours (10am-6pm Mon-Fri). Work schedule is flexible and may require limited evening and weekend hours.
