Courses 10 and 11

“Demystifying the Top Two Primary”

These two courses will look at the Top Two Primary from E-158 to E+28, and break down each facet of the primary and see what it means to election officials. Topics will include:

▪ Candidate Filing

▪ Candidate Statements

▪ Ballot Design

▪ Ballot Language

▪ Sample Ballots

▪ Election Officer Recruitment and Training

▪ Canvass Procedures

▪ Outreach (Voter, Candidate and Other Stakeholders)

▪ Current Law versus what we (CACEO and election officials) would like to see changed

▪ and Everything In Between!

Classes will be offered at a price of $50 per course.

Our tentative agenda would be:

8:15-8:30 Registration

8:30-10:00 Course 10 - Session 1

10:00-10:15 Break

10:15-11:45 Course 10 - Session 2

11:45-1:15 Lunch (on your own)

1:15-2:45 Course 11 - Session 1

2:45-3:00 Break

3:00-4:30 Course 11 - Session 2

If you have completed courses 2 through 9, you will qualify to graduate upon completion of the courses offered in Sacramento. Be sure to check the box on the registration form and print your name as you would like it to appear on the certificate.
