Enquiries Clerk

Purpose of the post

To be the first point of contact for potential new members and existing members both face to face and over the phone; to provide information on LASER’s products and services in response to enquiries; to assist loans officers to administer loans to members, to support staff in their duties and any other duties that the manager deems appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will:

1. Deal promptly with requests and enquiries from members and potential new members face to face, on the telephone and via the website.

2. Assist clients with completion of credit union documentation, including the loan application form.

3. Open new accounts for existing and new members.

4. Processing members’ transactions on to the computerised accounting systems and ensure that these are accurate and up to date.

5. Assist the loans officers with the administration of loans, including entering items on the database, credit searches and answering queries.

6. Dealing with members who are in arrears with their loan repayments.

7. Retrieve and deal with voicemail messages.

8. Support staff and volunteers with duties, including bank reconciliation.

9. Stationery management, filing and photocopying items.

10. Undertake any other duties relevant to the post as instructed by the line manager.

Additional information:

Salary scale: £12,145 per annum pro rata

Hours: 31

Holidays: 25 days pro rata
