VishingWhat is Vishing:Vishing (voice phishing using the phone) is a practice to?trick people into giving up their sensitive credit/debit card information after receiving a telephone call that appears to look like it came from a financial institution.How Vishing Works:The operation uses?telephone calls that instruct people to call a phone number to reactivate or update their credit/debit card information. When the victim calls the number, an Interactive Voice Response system requests that the caller enter in their card number and PIN. This data is captured by the IVR system and stored for retrieval by the vishing fraudster. What should I do if I receive a Vishing telephone call or text message:Do not respond. Genisys Credit Union does not request personal or credit/debit card information via automated telephone calls. Do NOT call the number in the telephone message.If you are unsure, of the message, call Genisys Credit Union to report it. Once you have reported the message, delete it from your mobile device.If you responded to the message and provided information, contact Genisys Credit Union immediately. ................
