Receptionist
(Non-Exempt)
Reports to: Branch Manager
Position Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its Mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Major functions
• Represent the Credit Union in a professional and positive manner when greeting members and the general public on the phone or in person
• Ensure that members and visitors are directed to an employee who is able to fulfill the request
• Develop and Maintain an effective level of product knowledge
Duties / Responsibilities
• Greet all visitors in a courteous, friendly, timely, and professional manner
• Answer basic questions, gather sufficient information to be able to direct them to the correct person and/or department
• Assist with verifying scanned documents
• Ensure that all visitors to the credit union sign the log sheets and wear a badge while they are in the building
• Ensure that maintenance people are not allowed to freely roam the building without escort
• Maintain the refreshment area for members
• Daily courier service to Secretary of State, County building, Post Office and Dartmouth location
• Processing Returned Mail
• Processing Courier Mail
• Auditing as assigned
• Processing Insurance Verifications for supporting department
• Verification of Mortgage Appraisals
• Provide administrative support as assigned in an accurate and timely manner
• Continually look for process improvement updates that will help to improve the efficiency level of the team
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of this job
• Strong, friendly voice and good diction/pronunciation
• Willingness to create welcoming atmosphere for members coming into the credit union
• Good communication skills; ability to make “small talk” with visitors, making them feel welcome and comfortable
• Must have a good working knowledge of credit union products and services offered by Members First Credit Union
• Support credit union initiatives
• Attend educational functions as required
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
General Sales Expectations:
• Successfully use effective Sales Champion skills and behaviors
• Build relationships with current and new members. Offer products and services that will help improve their financial wellbeing.
• Assist with the onboarding process that continues to build relationship with new members.
• Make sure members are being fully served
Other:
• Answer telephones and handle member inquiries
• Process mail as required
• Attend education functions as required
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Education
• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
Experience
• Up to six months of similar or related experience
