Title: Head Teller

Position Summary
Manage your day based on the four key drivers: Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Team Management. Strategize and develop employee engagement and member engagement to build the best financial institution in your community. Responsible for the supervision of the teller area. Guide and advise tellers in the efficient handling of member needs and accurate transactional processes. Solve member problems, resolve teller issues, and help with complex work-related matters. Perform all teller functions as needed. Ensure a high level of accuracy in all teller transactions.
Essential Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position, and are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:
1. Enthusiastically supports the credit union’s focus on member sales and service.
• Actively seeks out consultative sales opportunities and cross-sell opportunities and promotes credit union products and services based on member needs.
• Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals to support overall credit union financial goals.
2. Promotes and strives to create a world class experience for members.
3. Supervise the activities of the teller operations area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems. Help members understand policies and procedures as they relate to them.
4. Ensure that staff is trained and cross-trained in all phases of their particular jobs and in all credit union products and services to ensure the delivery of quality service to members and to ensure accuracy in transactions.
5. Coach tellers to ensure quality member service and accurate transactions.
6. Ensure proper understanding of policies and procedures for the credit union. Ensure that staff comply with policies and procedures and understand changes in requirements. Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies and procedures and trends in the credit union industry, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and with robbery procedures.
7. Manage the ticket system for issues such as facility and computer issues. Manage and order the purchase of supplies with the Executive Assistant.
8. Maintain an adequate supply of daily cash and cashier’s checks.
9. Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the teller area.
10. Ensure that safety and security policies are being followed and all staff is properly trained.
11. Serve as vault teller for the credit union, which includes ordering the cash and currency from the Federal Reserve, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
12. Investigate teller losses, coach the teller, and report outages to Branch Manager.
13. Analyze the teller work flow on an on-going basis to determine staffing requirements. Communicate schedule needs with Branch Manager.
14. Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff. Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
15. Hold periodic staff meetings to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or services, and to present general information. Encourage the exchange of ideas.
16. All other duties as assigned.
Department Management
The Head Teller is responsible for leading by example by creating an environment where employees are recognized for the positive impact their work has on Buckeye State Credit Union. They are responsible to motivate, coach, counsel, train, and develop their employees through written communication, performance reviews, and regular feedback.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a standard computer. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, and copy/fax machines. Noise level can range from quiet to loud.
Location and Hours of Work
This position will be based in the Shaker Heights, OH area; however frequent travel throughout the state may be required. The hours of this job are standard, and related to the needs of the membership and business flow.
Compensation
This is an hourly position; compensation will be based upon qualifications and performance relative to pre-established goals and objectives.
