Credit Card/Financial Institution Scam-Nationwide Alert

Michael Antoin THOMAS

AKA: Michael Lee THOMAS Michael ADAMS Age: 45 Oakland, CA

Barbara Joan LOPP AKA: Joan LOPP Age: 53 Stockton, CA

Recently Sioux City, IA had two scam artists approach at least five local credit unions attempting to use fraudulent credit cards to receive a cash advance. On 2/12/2015 the suspects were apprehended and identified as Michael Lee THOMAS and Barbara Joan LOPP. THOMAS and LOPP have been arrested and are currently in custody.

During the scam attempts in Sioux City, IA; THOMAS entered the credit unions and advised the teller his mother had just died and he needed a $9800.00 cash advance on his credit card for funeral expenses.

THOMAS was using the name Davon MILLER and was also in possession of several fraudulent IDs including those with the following names: Jason Herderson (Illinois ID), Matthew B Francis (California ID), and Donald Rose (California ID).

LOPP was in possession of a fraudulent ID and credit cards with the name: Cherry FULLER (Maryland ID) and is believed to be the suspect who entered financial institutions in other jurisdictions.

It is known that THOMAS and LOPP were traveling across the United States and were in the following states: IOWA, NEBRASKA, OKLAHOMA, and WISCONSIN. It is believed the suspects have been in other states as well.

The Sioux City Police Department is asking any financial institution who has been a victim or who the suspects have ATTEMPTED to victimize to please contact their local law enforcement agency to file a report.
