CAREER RESPONSIBILITES
A degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice provides a foundation of knowledge for students interested in a
variety of careers both in and out of the formal justice system. SRU's degree program covers criminological
theory, policing, courts and adjudication, corrections, research methodology, justice administration and special
topics of criminal justice. Students graduating with this degree are prepared for careers in law enforcement,
corrections, juvenile casework, probation, parole, and other careers in the criminal justice system. It also
provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue advanced degrees in the study of criminology and
justice studies.
