MEDICAL SPECIALIST (X 1 POST)REF: MEDSPE/02/RMMCH/01Department: Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Intensive Care SALARY : Grade I: R1 106 040.per annum (all inclusive package) Grade II: R1 264 623.per annum (all inclusive package) Grade III: R1 467 651. per annum (all inclusive package)CENTRE : Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital REQUIREMENTS : Grade I: Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthetics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Physician or Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in one of the afore mentioned specialities and the sub-specialty of Critical Care or Pulmonology/ or experience in these areas and proof of current registration. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as an Intensivist. Grade II: Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthetics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Physician or Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in one of the afore mentioned specialities and the sub-specialty of Critical Care or Pulmonology/ or experience in these areas and proof of current registration. A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience and experience in undergraduate teaching will be an added advantage. Grade III: Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthetics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Physician or Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in one of the afore mentioned specialities and the sub-specialty of Critical Care or Pulmonology/ or experience in these areas and proof of current registration. A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience. Experience in undergraduate teaching and research will be an added advantage. DUTIES: The successful candidate will provide clinical services in an Adult Intensive care unit attached to a large Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department. The primary responsibility will be the running of the Intensive care unit but would also be expected to be part of the departments overtime specialist cover as well as outreach. There may be additional clinical responsibilities in the functioning of the department such as depending on the candidates primary specialitysuch as, the establishment of clinical protocols and oversight of these, depending on the candidates primary speciality.
