Mr. William "Bill" Crowder, age 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday,

January 2, 2013, at his home, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 5, 2012, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Roger Waggoner will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1-7 PM Friday, and again 10AM until service time Saturday, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

He was born May 1, 1944, in Lexie Crossroads, Tennessee, to the late Gordon and Mattie Cole Fann Crowder. He and his wife Pat owned and operated Midway Diner, a favorite eatery located in Deason. He also restored and custom built antique cars and hotrods. Some of his clients included Alan Jackson and Roy Orbison. He was featured in every hot rod magazine and said he ..."liked it "fast and loud".

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Greer, and a sister, Earlene Lynch.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat Crowder, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Tammy Greer, and her husband Tim, of Murfreesboro, and Kim Goslee, of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Kayla Greer, Jessica Ellis, and her husband Chris, and Hunter Thomas; three great grandchildren, Ty, Troy, and Tre Ellis.

Ms Mary Katherine Hatchett, age 79, of Bell Buckle, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at NHC HealthCare in McMinnville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jay Pope will officiate, with burial to follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle.

Visitation will be 11 AM until service time Tuesday.

She was born March 17, 1933, in Bedford County, to the late Nathan C. and Corrine R. Johnson Hatchet, Sr. She was a member of Bell Buckle Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Nathan "Buck" Hatchett, Jr.

She is survived by a sister, Emma Jean Ashford, of Manchester; sister in law, Marie Hatchett; nephew, Calvin Hatchett, and a niece, Becky Ensey; two great nieces, Jennifer Little and Stephanie Housch; a great nephew, Travis Ensey; three great great nieces, Sherie Hatchett, Madison Housch, and Morgan Housch; two great great nephews, Jayden Little and Blaine Little, all of Bell Buckle; her caregivers, Cindy and Roy Bouldin, Ethan Bouldin, Katrina Bouldin, Danielle Scott, and Blake Cope, all of McMinnville.

She was born November 2, 1935, in Clifton Springs, New York, to James and Ina Winburm Nielson. She was retired from Xerox Corporation.

Survivors include two sons, Ronny Olsen, of Bell Buckle, and Jeff Olsen, of Murfreesboro; a brother, Clifton Nielson, of Utica, New York; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Retired Chief Master Sergeant J. T. "Jay" Cauble, age 86, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at The Heart Remembers.

He was born July 6, 1926, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to the late James T. and Beulah Leonard Cauble. He was retired from the United States Air Force with twenty six years of service. After the military, he worked for Converse Shoe Company for seventeen years as a traffic manager. He was and avid golfer and a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Cauble.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ella Selke, of Shelbyville, whom he married in Bad Kissinger, Germany, during World War II; a daughter, Ella Marie Heaton, and her husband Bob, of Jacksonville, Arkansas; a son, James Thomas Cauble II, and his wife Linda, of Shelbyville; two sisters, Marie Rogers, of Salisbury, North Carolina and Peggy Canupe, and her husband Bill, of Mt. Ulla, North Carolina; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at Midland Baptist Church.

He was born September 9, 1928, in Rover, Missouri, to the late Hayden and Clara Vonolaman Trantham. He was a retired machinist with Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a music lover, and faithful member of Midland Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Sexton Trantham, of Bell Buckle; a son, Rick Trantham, and his wife Rebecca, of Ashland City; a daughter, Debra Bennett, of Bell Buckle; a brother, Carl Trantham, of West plains, Missouri; a sister, Pauline Judd, and her husband, N.F., of Washington, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ryan Trantham, Laura Taylor, Travis Trantham, and Brooke Harper; eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Shelton, in 1986.

Warren, of Shelbyville; three sons Donald Wayne Shelton, and his wife Norma Jo, of Smyrna, Ernest Neal Shelton, and his wife Mary Ruth, of Murfreesboro, and Jerry Shelton, and his wife Margaret, of Shelbyville; brother George A. William Morton (Slick) Thompson, 88 died Wednesday January 16.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a .m. Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Bierovic officiating.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 66 years Naomi Cline Thompson. He also is survived by a son, William Kerry Thompson and a daughter,Adrian Bomar and husband, Wayne Bomar, of Shelbyville; grandsons, Jake, Matthew and Andrew Thompson of Arab, Ala. Brian and Derek Price of Shelbyville and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Kerry Thompson, Sr. and Maggie Moore Thompson; brothers R. K. Thompson and Tipton (Tip) Thompson of Shelbyville, and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Williams of Nashville and Dorothy Ann Whelehon of San Diego, Cal.

A native of Bedford County, he was employed by the United States Postal Service for more than 38 years, and was best known by his many patrons of the Southside of Shelbyville as "Slick", Bill or Billy Morton. After retiring, he worked in the barn office at the Walking Horse Celebration for many years.

He was a member of First Christian Church and was a past member of the Shelbyville Jaycees. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, frequently treating family and friends to backyard fish fry parties. He was always willing to share a jar of his special pepper relish, a beautiful bouquet of flowers or a unique plant cutting.

Visitation for Mr. Thompson will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church.

She was born February 19, 1935, in Bedford County, to the late David and Charlie Beale Patton McGuire. She was retired from Empire Pencil Company.

Survivors include two sons, David Suggs, of Houston, Texas, and Keela McGuire; a sister, Nancy Fishback, and her husband Charles, of Shelbyville; a niece, Joyce Marsh, and a nephew, Ronnie Fishback.
