Gift & Thrift is in need of housing for our next IVEPer, (International Volunteer Exchange Program) a female from Laos. She will be arriving in Harrisonburg on August 17th, and will be here until midJuly of 2018.

Ideally we would like housing with one household for the first 6 months, and a second home for the second 6 months. It is also ideal for the housing to be close to Park View, so she can either walk to work, ride bike, or have consistent transportation to and from work.

There is a small stipend available for this service.

Please contact Shannon Secrist at 4338844 if you are interested in helping out in this way

CMC Small Groups

Would you like to be part of a small

group? Anabaptists believe that the

Christian life should be lived alongside

others, not in isolation. CMC small

groups provide settings for deeper

relationships, and a community to

share fellowship, study, personal

encouragement, counsel, practical

support, outreach, and fun. Small

groups are made up of 6-12 adults, plus

children, who meet weekly or bi-weekly.

CMC encourages all regular attenders

to participate in small-group life. If you

are interested in joining a small group,

please contact Pastor Dayna or

The Singers Glen Music and Heritage Festival will feature three performances of Alice Parker's opera Singers Glen on September 23 and 24. The opera features lots of great choral hymn singing, and you're invited to join the choir--all ages welcome, no audition needed. Rehearsals will be held at Donovan United Methodist Church in Singers Glen on Sunday afternoons from 35 beginning August 13. Additional rehearsals for the entire cast will be scheduled the week prior to the performance, likely including Thursday and Friday. Because of the size of the stage, the size of the choir will be limited to about 30, so please sign up in advance. The festival and opera are only done every five years, so don't miss your chance. We also need soloists for various roles large and smaller. Auditions will be held at Donovan on August 5 and 6. For more information or to sign up for the choir or a solo audition, contact Jeremy Nafziger at JFNafziger@ or (540) 209-3767.
