Two hours will test their skills of basic English and Math. Two hours per week are required on the new Century program in the Learning Resource Center. Dean Update

• There was a Puente Coordinator meeting.

• Dr. Smith requested to review the retention data.

• Dr. Smith wants to meet with Puente, Project Success, and Adult Re-entry individually to brainstorm on the future of all the programs.

• Dr. Smith wants to know what the strategic plan will be for Puente, Project Success, and Adult Re-Entry by brainstorming with the team leaders and the advisory if needed. The goal is to find out if the needs are being met, are we seeing enough students, how’s the retention persistence rate, is it consistent with the services that we are expected by the district to provide, and hoping that all the data that we are submitting is going to be part of the ECC Plan Builder. This is information that you have already worked on in terms of your goals and your objectives.

• All updates for ECC Plan Builder have been turned in and are due to the Vice Presidents this Friday.

• All of our inputting will be completed this Friday.

• As a result of being placed on warning, it was requested to put our program review into our ECC Planner. The division has input their program review. The next step is having everyone in the individual programs to update their status in those areas.

• Dr. Fallo mentioned his concern since most of the previous goals and objectives were monetary. Dr. Smith made notations on a few reports to change goals of the programs to be similar to increasing the number of educational plans that are produced, to increase retention or persistence rate, and to talk more about what the needs for the program outside of monetary. Part of this is connected to the accreditation because the committee wants to make sure that we are planning appropriately.

• The final report is due this Friday. It will be given to the Vice President which will take it back to all the managers to review. Everyone’s request will be prioritized, the Vice Presidents will take the prioritization, reprioritize and give to PBC. The Planning Budgeting Committee will look at the prioritization and process. It will then be given to cabinet for final approval.

• It is critical to complete the new goals for the upcoming year because the old plan will roll over into 09-10 and everything that’s been completed will be deleted. The new goals and objectives will then be inputted. When updating, remember that we do not want to roll over old data from fall 2007 or spring 2008.

• Money for a retention counselor has been utilized by B.F. She is following up with students that participated in the New Student Welcome Day Orientation. Theses students will receive follow up letters to find out how they are doing and to make sure that all their educational plans were completed. Last year, Irene Graff did a research study showing the number of students that participated in orientation compared to those who didn’t at ECC. The persistence rate was 10% higher and we contribute that to all the effort that was done in terms of follow up, connecting with those students, and making sure that they had the resources they need in order to persist to the next semester. We want to make sure the same thing happens this year.

• The Landing Committee was reinstated to put organization back into the storage area. Everyone had to reorganize their boxes, shred old material to create more space, and to make sure that everyone who has storage area is safe. This is the only way we can keep our files organized. Files need to be maintained for auditing purposes at least 5 to 7 years. All of our student records are maintained up there.

• Dr. Smith reiterated that all data needs to be completed and updated because the deadline is this Friday. Data needs to be received immediately today.

• The next topic of discussion is primarily for certificated faculty. HR has requested a review of our reassigned time. She wants an evaluation of reassigned time of how it is utilized for faculty.
