CONCLUSIONS

Before I conclude, I feel honored to extend my gratitude to his Excellency, the Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States and Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur, Sri E. S. L. Narasimhan Garu, who spurred us on in our endeavor to keep pace with global standards.

I am greatly indebted to Hon’ble Minister for HRD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Ganta Srinivasa Rao Garu, for his care and concern for the higher education of the state in general and technical education in particular.

I would like to convey my profound admiration and thankfulness to the distinguished Chief Guest and recipient of Honoris Causa, Prof. A. Sridharan Garu, INSA Honorary Scientist, Formerly Professor of Civil Engineering and Former Deputy Director of IISc, Bangalore, for his gracious presence and stirring words of inspiration.

I profusely thank the members of Executive Council, University Officials, Directors, Principals of constituent and affiliated colleges, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, print and electronic media and the distinguished assemblage in this auditorium for their august presence and for rendering their support in making this event happen on grand lineage.

During the couple of months I have been in office, I have observed that there are new challenges ahead and a strong need for initiating appropriate processes of reform within the university. I seek fullest cooperation and support from all segments of the university community in executing my plans and programmes to develop this university into a Centre of Academic Excellence.

I take this opportunity to thank the entire University community for the help they have extended and for the understanding they have shown in smoothly running the affairs of the University. Each has played her or his role with enthusiasm and dedication, and each has been crucial in bringing us to this special moment.

In the next 3 years, I would expect the University to go up in all indices of measurement and stand up on par with the institutes of National importance. India is a nation with tremendous possibilities as it is brimming with passionate young men and women and this is the most valuable resource we need to invest on.The key for the development is to focus all our energies on students by providing them with quality education. I hope that with synergy amongst all stake holders, this will be achieved.

In conclusion, I would like to once again congratulate all the young men and women who have received their degrees and medals of distinction today. I can see a sigh of relief and sense of achievement in your happy faces. Enjoy the moment of success you achieved with your hard work and dedication. Remember the words of Tennyson; our aim is “to follow knowledge, like a sinking star, beyond the utmost bound of human thought.” Don’t ever be satisfied. Go for a higher dream.

“The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence”, as said by Sri Rabindranath Tagore. I am sure the University has provided you with right education marked by upright conduct, social sensitivity and a thirst for excellence. Your development should always percolate to the poor and suffering masses. Uplifting them should be your priority. As Einstein opined “nothing truly valuable arises from ambition or from a sense of duty, it stems from love and devotion towards mankind”.

I wish you all a bright future and I am confident that you will prove worthy alumni of this University and serve the nation through your learning, hard work and dedication.

Thank you.
