CAMPUS SPECIFIC NOTES:

CSU STANISLAUS: Students will be enrolled in the pre-licensure program each fall and spring. At least four (4) of the prerequisite courses must be completed at the time of application to the program, including at least 2 science prerequisite courses and at least 2 non-science prerequisites. Remaining prerequisite courses may be in progress at the time of the nursing application, and one course may be taken in the summer prior to Fall entry. Evidence of completion or work in progress is required for the application. A final grade of “C” or better in any outstanding course is required to enter the program. All prerequisite courses must be passed with a C or better, CR/NC grades will not be accepted.

This is an impacted program and supplemental criteria are used for the selection of students. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, a GPA of 3.0 in the science prerequisite courses and a 3.0 in non-science prerequisite courses and complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills V with a minimum test score (Adjusted Individual Total Score) of 70%. ATI TEAS may be taken a maximum of three times. The highest score of the first three attempts will be used. No more than 1 science prerequisite and 1 non-science prerequisite course may be repeated.

Applicants are ranked according to the following formula:

• Overall GPA – 5-25 points

• Science Prerequisite GPA – 5-25 points

• Non-science Prerequisite GPA – 5-25 points

• ATI Test of Academic Skills – 5-25 points

• Up to 25 points can be earned for the following:

o Continuing CSU Stanislaus student with last 9 units completed on campus – 10 points

o Permanent residency in Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, or Tuolumne counties (the CSU Stanislaus service region) – 5 points

o Health care experience – 0-5 points (documentation required)

o Bilingual – 0-5 points

• Criteria subject to change; see Nursing website.

Note: California residents are given preference over out-of-state and international students as long as the program is on impacted status.

Alternates are encouraged to complete any outstanding prerequisites. Should any openings in the program occur, alternates may be offered admission up to the 3rd week of classes, provided all prerequisites have been completed.

The application period for admission to the nursing program for the fall semester is December – January 15. The application period for admission to the nursing program for the spring semester is the month of September. Students need to apply to the university during the priority admission filing period AND be admitted to the university by the last day of the filing period for the application to the nursing program.
