Principal Investigator, Memphis Daily/Union Appeal 2017-18

• With assistant, transcribed a week of reports from two Memphis daily newspapers

• Analyzed those reports using a mix of computerized corpus linguistics software and narratology

• Currently drafting an article aimed at Narrative Inquiry about the project

Co-Principal Investigator, Disability Art as Memory 2015

• Attended, facilitated, and photographed/videotaped 13 art workshops for Louisville citizens with developmental disabilities, on a team of six UofL graduate students.

• Worked with the Louisville Council on Developmental Disabilities’ Weber Gallery.

• Produced a 20-minute documentary film for the Council. In-depth interviews with 10 participants will be stored in the Ekstrom Library Oral History Center.

Co-Principal Investigator, Digital Media Academy (DMA) 2014

• Planned and facilitated, on a team of five UofL graduate students, a two-week digital production camp for rising sixth-grade girls from historically low-performing schools.

• Led instruction of several types of digital projects, including movies, podcasts, and image manipulations.

• Interviewed girls about their access to, experience with, frustration about, and ways of learning about technology.
