The judges and editorial board of Nutrition Research are pleased to announce the winning authors:Mr. Yannick Luther Agbana, advised by Dr. Yuechun Zhu (Kunming Medical University, China) for the article “Garlic-derived bioactive compound S-allylcysteine inhibits cancer progression through diverse molecular mechanisms” (Nutrition Research 2020;73:1-14). Nutrition Research is accepting submissions for the 2020 David Kritchevsky Graduate Student Award. Review and research articles covering basic and applied research on all aspects of nutritional sciences are encouraged, including: nutritional biochemistry and metabolism; nutrient requirements in health and disease; digestion and absorption of foods; nutritional anthropology and epidemiology; the influence of socioeconomic, cultural and political factors on nutrition of the individual and the community; the impact of nutrient intake on disease response, work performance and behavior; the consequences of nutritional deficiency on growth and development, endocrine and nervous systems, and immunity; food intolerance and allergy; nutrient drug interactions; nutrition and aging; nutrition and cancer; obesity; and intervention programs. .Purpose: The David Kritchevsky Graduate Student Award was created to promote the interest of young investigators to study and contribute to the field of nutrition to advance food and life science research. Candidates are graduate students or students in professional schools (medical, dental, veterinary) currently registered at the time of submission, nominated by their major professor.Criteria: The David Kritchevsky Award Committee reviews submissions for creativity of research; the novelty of the research method; and the application of contemporary nutrition problems, methods, and techniques.
