REPORT CONTENT

PART 1 – Summary of peacebuilding situation in the country in the last year

Provide a brief summary update of the country’s peacebuilding situation, highlighting key events/ issues in the year, current potential conflict factors and overall trends, with a specific focus on any significant changes – positive or negative – from the previous year. (5,000 characters max).

     

PART 2 – Analysis of the overall PBF contribution to peacebuilding

How many PBF projects have been in implementation this calendar year? Is there any evidence of how PBF support has contributed to the higher level changes in the peacebuilding situation in the country (beyond individual project activities)? What are the PBF interventions that local stakeholders have found to be the most helpful in addressing their peacebuilding priorities? If no change/ progress/ impact at this level is yet evident, briefly explain why. (5,000 characters max).

     

PART 3 – Any new peacebuilding strategic plans or needs

What is the main Government’s strategic plan/ peacebuilding vision that the PBF support is contributing to? Have any new strategic plans – Government or UN/ international – been prepared in the last year? Have any new peacebuilding needs emerged? Do the current strategic thematic areas for PBF support still remain valid/ require additional support for next year? Have any other donors started to support these priorities? Are any new strategic areas proposed to be added for PBF support, taking into account the PBF niche, the conflict analysis and progress of PBF portfolio so far? If any new PBF support is being proposed at this time for PBSO consideration in 2019, kindly fill the table below. Before proposing additional support, please discuss with PBSO. If a PBF Steering Committee exists, how often did it meet in the last year? How is the PBF Secretariat staffed, if it exists? Does it need any additional capacity? What overall monitoring and evaluation exercises have been conducted for PBF support and how is this information used? Also, any other information relevant for PBF support to the country. (4,000 characters max)

[1] This report is required for all ELIGIBLE PBF countries benefiting from PBF projects that have been active for at least 6 months. It is submitted to PBSO by the PBF Secretariat or PBF focal point on behalf of the UN Resident Coordinator and PBF Joint Steering Committee, where it exists, in consultation with UNCT. The purpose of the report is to provide an annual update of the sustaining peace situation in the country, to provide a joint high level assessment of the PBF contribution and progress, and to highlight any emerging issues and/or needs.
