HP-35S SURVEY PROGRAMS

USER GUIDE

Thank you for purchasing an HP 35 from the Nettleman Land Consultants, Inc.

Your purchase of $499 includes a brand-new HP 35 calculator pre-programmed with the latest land surveying applications, a quality control sheet confirming that all calculator programs are working properly and an exclusive online course to introduce you to your new calculator.

You may be very excited to begin using your calculator, but it is important to understand that any editing of the software programs or clearing of the memory may result in the preprogrammed applications not working properly. Therefore, you should understand how to use the calculator before you begin experimenting with it.

All HP35's are verified to include all programs ? with the correct checksums ? the day they ship. Anyone who deletes the programs from the machines ? even accidently ? will be required to pay to have the programs re-loaded. So please do not remove the batteries, clear the memory, or alter the programs. To help you, NLC, INC has created an online course. You may access your online HP35 training course by going to the following URL: please use code "35NLC18" to gain entry to the course for free.

Also included is a how-to booklet. This booklet provides a step-by-step walkthrough of how to run the most popular programs. I recommend using your Elementary Surveying book to find questions then trying-out the HP35 to solve them.

After completing this course, try running some programs. This machine is not user-friendly like an iPhone or PC. It requires you to use it, try different functions and gain familiarity with the applications and the layout before quick and easy use is possible. The best way I have found is to simply get your Elementary Surveying book and try out different problems.

My last piece of advice is to confirm that your calculator is working properly. To do that, simply watch the lesson on calculator checksums. Then, go to the checksum menu on your calculator in confirm that the checksums you see on the screen match with the checksums on your quality control sheet. Some checksums may not match and they will be noted on the quality control sheet.

You have three (3) days from the date of delivery to inspect your calculator. If any programs are not working properly, please return it within that period. Otherwise, no refunds are offered, and the calculator will not be re-programmed if checksums do not match without a charge. Returned calculators must be in the original condition, with original checksums.

Good Luck!

Dr. Nettleman
