The SICK-1 a 139c.i. Monster Machine HOT BIKE Magazine's May 2003 Cover & Centerfold Feature Bike

This one of a kind handcrafted custom chopper was on the cover and centerfold of the May 2003 Hot Bike magazine.

Absolutely no expense was spared in the design & fabrication of this elegant machine. While it is a stunning example of the art the motorcycle this bike remains quite road friendly, both form and function were a priority throughout the design & fabrication process. This is a machine of beauty, performance and sophistication almost every time you look at it you see yet another unique feature. This is truly a motorcycle for the enthusiast who must have the best.

The central component of this bike is the 139c.i. R&R Engineering motor built specifically for this project. Composed of Delkron high deck cases, S&S wheels, Carrillo rods, JE pistons, High-performance cylinders that were machined from solid pieces of steel, for added strength the cylinders are bolted at the bottom to the cases and at the top to the heads bypassing traditional through-stud arrangements commonly used in other motors. The heads were custom built by R&R in-house on their CNC mills from billet stock featuring 2" exhaust ports, 1.75" exhaust & 2.15" intake valves from Ferrea, an R&R cam ground specific for this motor and a Pro Stock S&S Super D carb with three thunder jets. Ignition is a Dyna unit and the pipes are hand built from Rick's Custom Fabrication. Engine was dialed in by R&R on their dyno at the time of it's assembly and again after bike was completed to insure rock solid reliability and performance.

The massive amount of power is transferred to the rear wheel via a 3" wide open belt drive system custom made by Billet 4-U that includes a set of their forward controls built as an integral part of the primary system. This unique primary drive system connects to a Jim’s six-speed transmission and a hydraulically operated Rivera Pro Clutch.

The frame is a custom built piece from Daytec based on their Softail-style frame. it incorporated an additional 3" of stretch to the backbone and 3/4" in the down tubes to accommodate the R&R motor assembly along with a 36-degree neck rake.

RC COMP mid-glide trees, 39mm Drag Specialties tubes, and Sullivan smooth lower legs make up the front fork system. The rear suspension consists of a Legend Air Ride system allowing for ride height adjustment on the fly. Wheels are Performance Machine "Villain" wheels; a 19x2-1/2-inch in front and an 18x5-1/2-inch at the rear with Avon rubber on both ends. Brake system consists of Performance Machine 6 piston unit and "Villain" floating rotor on the front. A Performance Machine 4 piston unit and a "Villain" rotor mated to a custom fabricated Billet 4-U drive pulley handle the braking at the rear.

Fuel tank is a hand made steel unit from Rick's Custom Fabrication, along with all the associated pieces that make the tank appear to flow into the frame seamlessly. Rick’s also modified the Daytec oil tank, both front and rear WCC fenders installing an led tail light with integral struts on the rear. Handlebars concealing the throttle, clutch line, all wiring with an LED oil pressure light mounted in the center. Custom handlebar nuts that allow all cables, and lines to exit the bars below the top triple tree, hand fabricated top motor mount, hidden coils and switches mounted under the seat are all courtesy of Rick's.

Paint is House of Kolor Kandy Red over a silver base with a clear top coat that gives the impression of a third dimension, it is so deep, as Hot Bike said in their write up, " ...the finish looked so deep you could almost reach into it... "

Rounding out the major bike components are Performance Machine hand controls, Headwinds headlight, and a custom made Danny Grey seat.
