Sample Job Description – Lawn Care SpecialistPosition: Lawncare SpecialistReports to: Division ManagerDepartment: LawncareExempt Status: Non-exemptSummary Description:The Lawncare Specialist works in the field (on our customers’ properties), and in the office, performing lawncare services, providing customer service, and selling lawncare and shrub care services. The specialist is accountable to the Lawncare or Shrub care Manager and to the Assistance Managers in the division.Specific Responsibilities:Service work: Performs lawncare service work including aerations, seeding, fertilizing, spraying, limiting, etc.Estimating & selling: Meets with customers on their property to discuss their lawncare and shrub care needs; prepares estimates; presents bids; closes sales. Works in sales campaigns doing telephone solicitation, and sales work during the winter sales season and throughout the year. Must work hours needed to achieve sales goals including working nights and Saturdays as requested by managers.Scheduling & managing: Plans and manages jobs, organizing necessary materials, equipment and personnel. Must work hours needed to achieve production and sales goals, including working Saturdays as required during peak season or to as requested by Managers.Customer service: Completes requested services in order to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.Vehicles & equipment: Uses and maintains vehicles and equipment in a safe, appropriate fashion; promptly reports any defects or damage.Other: Assists Lawncare Managers and team members with other assigned duties, as requested.Performance Measures:Service work:Completes all tasks assigned to specified quality levels by agreed upon deadlines.Meets or exceeds specified performance goals for assigned tasks.Estimating & selling:Provides prompt response to requests for estimates and follows up to make the sale.Scheduling & managing:Meets required performance goals for timely response to service, sales, and production needs.Customer service:Meets or exceeds standards for good customer service.Vehicles & equipment:Meets or exceeds standards for safe, proper use of vehicles and equipment.Reports all defects or damage to vehicles or equipment within 24 hours.Other:Completes all additional tasks assigned to specified quality levels by agreed upon deadlines.Requirements:Must be able to stand and work for 8 hours per day.Must be able to walk, bend, crouch, stoop, dig, rake, push a fertilizer spreader.Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.Must be able to operate vehicles and landscape equipment.Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a commercial motor vehicle and must be able to pass a physical examination requirements and drug & alcohol testing for a DOT medical card.Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers, in person and on the telephone.Must be clean-shaven, well groomed and hair must be cut above collar.Must be able to pass examination for and maintain a pesticide license. ................
