Homeless Child Care Program Project Coordinator

Job Description

PURPOSE: The Homeless Child Care Program Project Coordinator

is responsible for the implementation of a program that provides child care subsidy and service coordination services for Homeless children and families across King and Pierce Counties.

The Project Coordinator supervises

1. Homeless Intake Specialist

2. Homeless Parent Representative(s)

3. Child Care Financial Assistance Specialist

NATURE & SCOPE: The Homeless Child Care Program Project Coordinator is a member of the Family Services Team and reports to the Family Services Manager. They are accountable for

• promoting quality early learning for children

• overseeing grants and contracts associated with the program they manage,

• monitoring program expenditures

• representing the agency with local organizations, entities and groups concerned with child and family issues and for

RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific responsibilities of the Homeless Child Care Program Project Coordinator, but may not be limited to:

Development of goals and objectives to meet all outcomes established internally and by funders.

Hire, train, and support Homeless Child Care program staff.

Work with Homeless Child Care program staff to regularly monitor program expenditures in alignment with CCR and funder guidelines.

Develop annual budget for Homeless Child Care program, in partnership with Family Services Manager, and monitor this budget throughout the year.

Track progress towards outcomes regularly, communicating internally and externally, as appropriate and prepare regular reports.

• Ensure timely and accurate data entry.

Complete, in a timely manner, all Homeless Child Care funding requirements, including activities reporting and billing.

Assist with the development of applications for new and existing funding.

Assist with community efforts to educate potential funders and government entities on the CCR Homeless Program and the Homeless System.

• Represent and speak on behalf of CCR Homeless Child Care Program in the community, with advocacy coalitions, and government entities

Work with other Family Services leadership on team vision, goals and objectives.

Ensure alignment and collaboration with other Child Care Resources programs.

Other duties that relate to the work of the Homeless Child Care team and broader Family Services department as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include at least 5 years of relevant experience; or an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration or Social/Human services or a related field and 3 years related work experience; or a Bachelor of Arts degree in these or related fields and 2 years related work experience; or a Masters of Arts degree in these or related fields and 1 year related job experience. 2-4 years of supervisory experience required.

Experience working with low income and homeless populations required.

Requires at least 2 years of experience supervising employees, including management and administration duties. Knowledge of early childhood development issues, child care administration and the needs of low-income and homeless families and children. Case management experience and an understanding of child care issues are also preferred. A commitment to diversity, cultural relevancy and inclusion is required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Homeless System (locally and nationally)

• Experience working in a culturally diverse setting.

• Demonstrated understanding of the effects of poverty, racism and classism on families.

• Facilitation skills and experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent listening skills with the ability to give and receive feedback to peers and direct reports in a consistent and timely manner.

• Ability to communicate and actively participate in CCR team meetings, committees and community groups.

• Proven ability to work successfully and collaboratively in a complex team environment.

• Experience with grant development, contract and budget monitoring and reporting.

• Experience with providing quality customer service.

• Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook programs.

• Washington State Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and access to a reliable automobile are required.

Salary and Benefits:

$51,871.26- $64,839.075 salary range

Salary depends on ability to meet or exceed the above desired employment criteria.
