Randstad Canada is pleased to introduce the Randstad Salary Guide 2019, a valuable tool that provides the critical information organizations like yours need to remain attractive, while maintaining a competitive edge.

Last year, we introduced our Human forward approach ? a promise, really ? furthering our commitment to continuity and growth by helping everyone we work with ? job seekers, workers, employers ? realize their full potential.

Our Salary Guide is designed to help you attract and hire top candidates, speed up the hiring cycle and improve your compensation negotiation processes by keeping you in the loop when it comes to offering competitive salaries, especially if you find yourself up against larger hiring budgets. It's not just a shrinking talent pool that threatens your organizational success.

Human forward came at a critical, pivotal time in how work is performed and by whom. Technologies have completely changed the full-cycle hiring process, refining and often dictating an organization's ability to attract, hire and retain top performers. The volume and speed at which data is available, delivered and analyzed directly impacts organizational success. The lack of skilled talent already felt by many sectors is no longer a mere annoyance; through 2019 it will become a significant impediment to organizations looking to grow, remain profitable and stay competitive.

That's why we developed Tech and Touch, an important element of our Human forward philosophy, which defines how we invest in, develop, support and leverage technology to enhance human interaction. Technology-driven data helps identify talent; human interaction helps hire them. We believe the need for this synergetic relationship has never been stronger. It's often soft skills ? a talent's ability to communicate, listen, think critically and collaborate ? that separate good talent from exceptional ones. Assessing those soft skills successfully depends on human contact and interaction enhanced, not thwarted, by technology.

This is the balance we strive to keep and share, especially amid shifting economies and political climates. It's how we respond to change. It's how we make a real difference in the world of work, and how we can help you do the same.

about this guide

Our Salary Guide 2019 provides you with salary information, based on years of experience, across a wide range of Canadian cities and for a variety of roles within the following sectors: Engineering, Technologies, HR, Finance & Accounting, Sales & Marketing, Industrial support, Skilled trades & Industrial management, Administrative support, Contact centre & Customer care.

All salaries are expressed in thousands of dollars (Ex.: 55.6 : $55,600) and represent annual base salaries (before benefits) with the exception of Industrial support, Skilled trades & Industrial management, which in order to best reflect the realities of the market, are presented in hourly rates.

For Engineering, Technologies, Human resources and Sales & Marketing, salary ranges correspond to the 25th and 75th percentiles for entry, mid and senior levels (entry-level: 1 to 3 years' experience; mid-level: 4 to 7 years' experience; senior-level: 8 to 12 years' experience). For Industrial support, Skilled trades and Industrial management, Administrative

support and Contact centre & Customer care roles we provide a salary range that corresponds to the 25th and 75th percentiles for the 1st, 3rd and 5th years of experience. Roles in Finance & Accounting correspond to the 25th and 75th percentiles for the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 10th years of experience.

For executive positions, the size of the company has more impact on wages than years of experience. This is why salary ranges for executive positions are based on company revenue, which allows us to present a more accurate picture.

Salary information comes from Economic Research Institute (ERI) and was validated by our industry experts across Canada. ERI compiles the most robust salary, costof-living, and executive compensation survey data available, with current market data for more than 1,000 industry sectors. All data is employer-provided and comes from a variety of sources. Survey data is collected through internally conducted salary surveys and the purchase of third party salary surveys.
